If you do your back in they will say that we provide you with trolleys for Health and Safety but you chose not to use them.
So they're no longer mandatory?

Yes they are Mandatory still. The emphasis Eastie is applying is that if you ignore a Mandatory instruction to use the trollies and injure yourself using unathorised methods, then a lot of the blame in any compensation claim, or investigation, will be laid at your feet.

However, if Managers are not seen enforcing, instructing or educating workers (as in turning a blind eye because the work gets done) then they themselves could be held partially liable - thats until the Cons change the laws and cut the red-tape
it is not enough just to have health and safety measures in place, but is vital to enforce, review and audit them.

Lets see how many are failing and have'nt hit the headlines yet. I don't want to put in the reports from the press just yet, rather it was from the horses mouth :cool

Well he did say a few were failing and considering he was under the impression a 1000 had taken place as opposed to the 390 or so, a 100 could be a few.
Still it is indicative as to how well the revision process is progressing if only 2 out of the 100 have moved on to be succesful. Even an idiot would recognise that there is a fundamental problem with the process and it is needed to go back to square one to re-evalute the whole process.

Well there was but they didn't think to communicate it to the members and in fact it was only mentioned a year down the line :cuppa It was more a question of RM want this and that's it, although they spent 5 months ironing out the details, two years down the line there's still quite a few creases.

Since the lapsing started the Barrow-in-Furness office is really on shaky ground and just stuttering along. I'll keep you posted and let you know if you need to revise your figures down to one. I don't want the office to fail because we've had a pretty good atmosphere in the last nine months. Staff are now starting to show signs of stress and that really puts a spanner in the works:nervous

If Lang or Haddon are still lurking in,give us an update guys. :whistle
And any chance we can have conformation or not that our 100 is the same as Moya's.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I would imagine Moyas perception of a failing office and the workers perception are totally different.

I would like to know what CWU HQ's perception of a failing office is and whether it is closer to Moya's vision or there own membership's.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share
