Hi guys, just a query I have..
Been off work as a part time postie since Jan with injury, so near 6 months now. Anyway the injury has not recovered and will be restricted to do the job going forward and so I will be resigning now unfortunately as it stops me doing the job.
But just wondering where I stand on my annual leave I had booked already whilst in sick pay which has passed, and the outstanding days I had booked but obviously will no longer use due to me leaving. Will I get paid for them at all or not due to being off sick same time?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Annual Leave pay after sick leave
You should get all your holiday as accrued leave and get a lump sum upon your departure, 2.5 days per month paid for every full month worked so I'd be clever and give them 1 months notice, it's then up to them if they ask you to work it, which you won't as you're signed off, or they just cut their losses, pay you a month as per your contract plus the 3 weeks accrued hol pay, make sure you negotiate colleague shares in your final pay, you should get something, and if your office is going through P&L and you haven't had any of the passociated payments, negotiate those too!
Congrats for getting out, the job is shite compared to 5 years ago, let alone 20 years ago!
How old are you, have you considered IHR?

Nor would I. There are plenty of managers that do absolutely nothing all day and they keep their jobs.
Good luck.
Good luck.

1 weeks notice is all they require! If you give them one months notice and wish you to go immediately then 1 week pay is all you will get!SexyLegs wrote:You should get all your holiday as accrued leave and get a lump sum upon your departure, 2.5 days per month paid for every full month worked so I'd be clever and give them 1 months notice, it's then up to them if they ask you to work it, which you won't as you're signed off, or they just cut their losses, pay you a month as per your contract plus the 3 weeks accrued hol pay, make sure you negotiate colleague shares in your final pay, you should get something, and if your office is going through P&L and you haven't had any of the passociated payments, negotiate those too!

Re: Annual Leave pay after sick leave
What else can I do? I have basically a disabled wrist now from a personal injury (not work related) but won't be able to commit to labour work again. I wouldn't really want to be relocated to another position either, I'm only on a 3 month rolling contract as a part time postman, 25 hours per week, but been in here for 18 months nearly now.Pat Ostman wrote:Nor would I. What would you advise I do? If I explain I can no longer do the job I imagine they will try to find me another position wouldn't they?
Thanks for all the advice

I have just turned 30, but as I say on a rolling contract anyway and surprised they renewed it knowing i was signed off for the last 3 months anyway.. they didn't have to did they so ihr won't be an option for me would it?SexyLegs wrote:You should get all your holiday as accrued leave and get a lump sum upon your departure, 2.5 days per month paid for every full month worked so I'd be clever and give them 1 months notice, it's then up to them if they ask you to work it, which you won't as you're signed off, or they just cut their losses, pay you a month as per your contract plus the 3 weeks accrued hol pay, make sure you negotiate colleague shares in your final pay, you should get something, and if your office is going through P&L and you haven't had any of the passociated payments, negotiate those too!
