Stage warnings and AWR

Post by kietr »

Hi
Does anyone know whether or not the RM stage warnings procedures would/should be classed as "basic working conditions" under the Agency Workers Regulations.
Thanks in advance

If I remember correctly the Angard contract had a clause saying effectively that your employment can be terminated if you fail to turn up for an agreed shift (between you and Angard) and fail to notify Angard prior to the shift start that you will not be able to do the shift. According to contract no warnings needed and termination of employment can be instant.

If during an Engagement you are absent through sickness or injury you must notify Angard as soon as possible that you are unable to work, and of the likely duration of your absence. Ideally this should be before the start of duty, and must be no later than the first day of absence. All absences must be covered by appropriate certification.

that is all that is in the contract and i have done all that, no mention of any termination at all

If that is what the contract states guess they should not have done what they have. Not sure what recourse you have.
