Is there any way to stop the delivery of a parcel I posted?

This is a non starter is it not,let's say the OP goes to the delivery office or manages to call them,the office that it will be delivered from tomorrow that is and explain,there is nothing that can be done surely.
It's nothing to do with us.

You mean even if I manage to get through the right place and speak to someone in charge they will refuse to help and say they will deliver it anyway even if the parcel is in their hands as we speak?

So would my best bet be to call any delivery offices in Oxford instead? How can I be sure which delivery office there serves the area where the parcel is going?

yes thats about it. There is also the problem of knowing if its a genuine request, and with no return address its even more difficult. There is no official way to stop a parcel in the system.

yes thats about it. There is also the problem of knowing if its a genuine request, and with no return address its even more difficult. There is no official way to stop a parcel in the system.

I could tell them what's in it if they ask and there's paperwork there too....

They are not allowed to open it though. If you had a return address on the outside you might stand a chance. Without it you are stuffed.

It is against the law to tamper with the mail once its in the system RM have legal obligation to deliver it and no RM manager can authorise an intercept. I know the guy is probably genuine, but how do we know he posted it the item belongs to the Queen now and I doubt she will be passing out her permission to hand it to anyone except the delivery address.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will try my best, no matter if I succeed or not. I am a girl and yes I am genuine there is no probably there, I could talk to them and then go down my local post office where every single person knows me very well because I post about 10 items there daily and show the them my postal receipt (they all recognise me) and get them to confirm to the guy behind the phone that I indeed have proof of posting that item and it is me who sent it. If all goes to hell just cos people are too stiff, well who cares, it is *only* £200 anyway....

because it is the wrong item sent to the wrong people? and they will keep it as it is a lot of money and I will never see that money / item again....

I must admit I am slightly confused by some of the proceedings. Why are you posting stuff to someone you know will do you out of money without a thought?

I take it this is an eBay transaction and you have inadvertently got addresses mixed up. You appear articulate so I doubt you accidentally put the address of your biggest enemy as the receiver of these £200 worth of goods.

Contact them, You never know, they MIGHT return the contents to you. Now I am not humanity's greatest supporter but I am assured there are a few good ones out there.

Finally, you put "if it all goes to hell because people are too stiff". I think that's a little harsh. Flip the situation and see how you would feel if you paid £200, only for the sender to intercept your goods. A little voice tells me you would be on these forums asking what right Royal Mail had to hand over your parcel.

And I am afraid that's your biggest problem if you take that angle.

Yeah we had a customer call in the priority locker once in our office to collect a parcel he was sending to Nigeria, he had sold the item on e-bay and the guys he was selling it to asked for his bank details so they could pay him. What do you think he gave them it and they duly paid him the money, after a couple of hours they then proceeded to empty his bank account, luckily he realised something was amiss when his bank contacted him. So he came into the office to get back his parcel and believe it or not the manager gave it back to him although he had to sign for it, nothing but praise for us then.
