In all my working life ( 40 years ) i have never known a company for so much form filling out . Go sick , half an hour filling form out as to why ! Have an AOD another hour ! Dog attack another hour as to what happened ! Accident in the van ! No wonder the post is late . All other firms i worked for just logged in in a book .

The company want to reduce the amount of accidents recorded so they deliberately make it a chore to record them .
the absence of any paper book and the need to access the computer. ensures our reliance on the manager and gives them
time to try and downgrade your accident to an "incident"

ive worked in other industries where accident books are usually permanently displayed in a prominent position.

I've told the DOM about accidents I've had whilst on work , slab flipped up and hurt my ankle was one incident .
You ask for the accident book to sign and now and there isn't one and its now done on the computer.
Problem is managers now are running round like headless chickens throwing off walks, throwing packets into packet bags , conference calls etc and dont have time or conveniently forget to do it .
I always now write everything down in a pocket book and tell the H/Safety to make a note of it.
What makes me laughand is really sad is that we have a board at work showing how many days since an accident in the office

We've a certificate hanging on the wall at work.............100 days without an accident the only time I get my name on a certificate and they spell it wrong

What's your problem somerset, AOD form filling may be important to some, return to work interviews is how it should be done, if someone has a problem with their health that is the moment to tell your manager, long may it continue I say.

Nobody answered my question on " Do other companies do this " My point was that before i even start prepping up , i have to sign in, sign for the van keys ,sign the specials , log in PDA. Then have to sign out , how many pouches what time out etc ?

The NHS is just as bad ... according to people I know who work within it. Not just in terms of filling in forms and general bull, but also in terms of having a manager to every person. A mate of mine works in a small department within the NHS at a local hospital. There are 13 grunts working within, with 5 managers overseeing them. That's almost a manager to every two people! And the wages they're on are even more inflated than in RM. According to my mate, whenever they're losing money they do two things - make a load of grunts redundant and bring in a new wave of managers on £70k per year. No surprise that this hospital is losing £millions (tens of) per year!

Robbo . Do not tell me please that you are one of them who left school and joined RM ? And have never worked for anyone else ? I have a couple of them in my office . And they do not realise what real work is ! God forbid that they ever have to go into the real world. Meaning basically work 40 hours !
