I've had several lots of d2d's this week and to add insult to injury the local council have thrown their quite heavy and thick magazine into the pot meaning heavy bags even b4 putting any mail in...luckily i am on a 'decent' walk where i can break the weight down, but i feel sorry for other guys in our office and other offices who perhaps have to deliver to 800/900/1000 delivery points and have all these have around 6000 to 7000 d2d's and council crap waiting for them even b4 they have even gone to their fitting on Monday..must be soul destroying ..they've got the weight to contend with, prepping them up,finding room in their bags, and they are still expected to go on IP sorting every morning, leave on time, and complete their duty accordingly in the time allocated...a few posties who are brave enough..stand up for themselves by either cutting off, working to time, prepping up these d2d's in work time(not their own time which i have seen)..these guys are in the minority and are always given grief by managers..the rest either through fear of having no balls keep their heads down..and deliver everything...often going over their time, but never claiming as it might draw attention to themselves...yes idiots i know, but true cos i have seen it!

Should he pretend his duty took longer than it did?
Should they have lapsed another duty?
He has worked his contracted hours.
How is that stupid?
Ditto.

If I finish a bit early, I tend to put the next day's (and the next, where applicable) d2ds into the fitting. It means I can do more the next day, without having to do the prep. This tends to mean that not only do I work my time the day before, but also the day after. It's actually a case of filling your hours rather than being stupid. An early finish is a habit many people could do with getting out of, asap.

In "WTLL" We were told ALL D2Ds have to be delivered, NO MATTER WHAT!

Door to door is done over 5 days in our office so as we are not here mon or tues prep will only be done for the rest of the week and continue through to next week as this is in union agreement.20% per day

It would have to be a local agreement.
There is no national agreement of 20% per day.
If it is a local agreement it's a stupid and dangerous local agreement.

I amazed the way D2Ds are treated in some offices, surely it can't be that difficult to deliver all the D2Ds that are due (unless people are being lazy :hmmmm )

With some it is laziness and with others its down right dishonesty. But most of it, I think, is down to the old Job and Knock mindset with people trying to make time and an unwillingness to go out later after they have prepped the D2Ds and cutt off, because they are used to getting out at a certain time.

As with a lot of RM things its chasing the clock that seems to be at fault.

It's piss poor management is what it is.
Members will only do it if they can get away with it and it's accepted practice in some offices.
Obviously accepted by managers too lazy to make it unacceptable.
Where are these undelivered D2D's ending up?
It puts all our jobs at risk. :cuppa
