Re: Fines for the office
The WTLL film did mention ID, but our manager just said that's stupid and it must have meant the callers office, as the tickets are strictly not to be handed over without both the 739 card and ID. You're not going to knock on someone's door then ask for ID before you give them their item, i'm certainly not anyway.

On http://www.royalmail.com/2012/ticket-delivery" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - the only mention of ID is when collecting it - in fact in the spiel it mentions "if no-one is home" which would indicate to me that its as DGP1 says - deliver to address not to individual.

Re: Fines for the office
I did that on my first week - I had a specials and knocked and asked for ID. Thats untill some old school postie pointed out the error of my ways at the top of his voice in the middle of the office .OnAFlyer wrote:The WTLL film did mention ID, but our manager just said that's stupid and it must have meant the callers office, as the tickets are strictly not to be handed over without both the 739 card and ID. I think that is almost certainly a sackable offence.5plusbonusball wrote:So when it's a bird dressed in only a towel with her curlers in, cos you've just got her out of bed at 9am answers the door , do you still say no id no tickets. Then do you slip it in front of her!crazy dom fools.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Fines for the office
The office does not get a fine, each complaint costs money to process when it is broken down in real terms.
Basically, the more complaints the more staff needed, the more it costs.
You should have the latest figures for complaints and so on on your notice boards,it's broken down there.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
