Well said sirRicky Bruch wrote:After having dealings with one senior union official I'll never vote for any union member/official who isn't involved with deliveries and that goes for those that have been out of deliveries far too long to really know what's going on on the shop floor and how this ridiculous new delivery method is affecting people. Too many running this union wear rose tinted glass, too long out of the job to be of any use to the rest of us.Lateagainpostie wrote:2010 was joke, that Billy and Dave got the approval on by the back door, It's time that the people who have the weight on the shoulder and take the mail the last mile have their own distinct Union, no-one cares about us, so it's time we started looking after ourselves

Re: 2010 Agreement what a joke
When Royal Fail and the Union came to the P&L agreement I bet they had no idea the cost of fuel would rise by so much as it is today then add the cost of van damage repairs, maintenance and tyre wear and the day to day depreciation of vans in general and I bet there are a few numpties sat in a boardroom scratching their heads and desperate to sell Royal Fail
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers

Are you trying to tell me that all those top managers and University educated bods in head office couldn't work out that vans are more expensive to run than bikes ! ! even without taking the rising cost of fuel into account.R@YAL F@IL wrote:When Royal Fail and the Union came to the P&L agreement I bet they had no idea the cost of fuel would rise by so much as it is today then add the cost of van damage repairs, maintenance and tyre wear and the day to day depreciation of vans in general and I bet there are a few numpties sat in a boardroom scratching their heads and desperate to sell Royal Fail

Possibly. But can anyone seriously believe that indoor staff with their toilets and air conditioned workplace deserve the same wages as delivery postmen?Straight4ward wrote:Higson will love you!

Well if you really believe that you'll be happy.
Delivery Postman and Mail Centre Postman have same basic wage. BUT and it is a big But. Delivery Functions receive a Supplement of £21.00+ (pro rata) and Mail centre Workers receive a MC Supplement of approx £8.00 (also pro rata)
Not a great deal more I agree, but their skill levels and working hours are comparable with ours.
Just to state though I don't agree how we ended up with the supplement as only now 3 years after the agreement am I now back on what I was getting before.

Re-quoting again for clarity.
Does that mean you support MC staff working on the loading bays and out in all weathers like us, should get a different hourly rate than the ones that work inside all day.

Re: 2010 Agreement what a joke
You seriously think that is comparable to a delivery round work wise? The stress on delivery is a different class.if the mail is not all taken out or is brought back then it is on our heads and we are the ones targeted.I am not looking for a argument about this but 100% of my office would agree, possibly because after the recent revision we have been shat on with no real union help.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:antcpfc wrote:Possibly. But can anyone seriously believe that indoor staff with their toilets and air conditioned workplace deserve the same wages as delivery postmen?Straight4ward wrote:Higson will love you!

Union help.
Now there's a novel idea, our rep has tried to get the union stance on summer lapsing after the 3 revisions we have had..........................the silence is deafening. It would appear that they don't want to embark on contentious issues and so they don't.

I can guarantee there will be no summer lapsing at our place.2 pm finish today and nobody was back before 1.45 and that is after leaving a load of packets to give time for the letters.Remember this is the lighter time of year so god knows what will happen come Octoberdvbuk55 wrote:Union help. Now there's a novel idea, our rep has tried to get the union stance on summer lapsing after the 3 revisions we have had..........................the silence is deafening. Surely the union, if you can call it that, should insist that ALL offices get the same. In other words, everbody gets the 1 in 4 carrot that was dangled in front of us so we signed up to the deal? We got shafted by a union rep, one that was supposed to be good at his job. When I questioned a senior rep in our area I was fobbed off with a shoddy answer, if ever there was one. Waste of time effort and union subs if you ask me. Just wondering if Billy and Dave are aware of what is going on and IF they actually care?

Re: 2010 Agreement what a joke
Well the chattering continues revisiting the revision debacle and including WCM and solving all outstanding issues and apparently some progress has been made. Well we have had 3 revisions in the last two years culminating in the introduction of backless frames last week, something I don't recall being part of the 2010 agreement but a new initiative which either hasn't been agreed or is still being discussed. I think it's time Royal Mail got a grip of the backsliders and started bringing them up to speed with those of us who have been through the mill a number of times.heapsy wrote:Surely the union, if you can call it that, should insist that ALL offices get the same.
