Even if i did earn £25k i'm 15miles from the D.O. so unless you're volunteering to do the cycling a bike isn't much use to me.

I have an update.....
I'm due to appear in the local press with a local celeb who is backing our cause, its Gonch from Grange Hill!! Should be out next Thursday, maybe wed night

I don't want to ride a bike AL, its too cold and dark at 5 in the morning, the only other choice i have is to get my wife to drive me in to work. I have a skateboard but i haven't used it for years....
We must fight Royal Mail!!

15 miles @ 30 miles an hour cycling - 30 minutes tops, unless it's raining, the roads are icy or heavy traffic give yourself an extra 5 minutes

When our DO absorbed 2 SPDO's crew buses were used to bring in the SPDO staff , one was 5 miles away the other was 12 miles. These were in place for the 1st 3 yrs. As the staff turn over was quite high from the SPDO's the 1st bus to the closest office was removed as it was no longer needed. The 2nd one has now been withdrawn as only 2 of the old staff remain and they now get a lift in with people from that area who come into our DO. I can see a point in custom and practice but i'm sure you're heading into a dead end with a strike.

You need to work on the basis that RM will remove this and you will have to find alternative transport, so find it now and then fight rather than just complaining and hoping that RM fold, put in your grievence form first and start from there (someone on here will be able to get you a copy of the procedure).

Most importantly, don't get angry with them because then you'll only do something in anger that will damage your argument.

Has your office had any revisions or gone over to P&L yet? Is their a bus that goes near to your office?

With the amount of offices that have gone over to P&L it was only a matter of time before RM looked into what their vans are being used for and stopped any usage of vans that is not for actually delivery of mail or for collections.

Did the 25 of you move to the current office from another office?
