Re: Mail being delivered late afternoon
Possibly being delivered by someone doing docket after they've finished their own walk. We used to start a couple of hours earlier a few years ago which would tie in with the earlier delivery time.

Re: Mail being delivered late afternoon
I can be delivering from 0930 all the way up to 1440 depending on day and shift pattern. One of my addresses will see me across the road delivering but because of the road type and lay out of the round it could 3.5 hours before they get theirs.

I can be on the road as early as 8am and deliver my last letter as late 1.30pm.........as has been said, it depends on traffic and shift patterns

“The changes to delivery routes will mean a member of our experienced team will still be delivering to our customers in insert town.”
“The local delivery team and I are fully committed to providing a high quality of service that is as reliable and friendly as customers have come to expect from Royal Mail in insert town over many years.”
Royal Mail say they need to modernise the way they operate and are making changes to keep prices as low as possible.
It all means Royal Mail will continue to deliver in the morning and for a longer period during the day. Many customers will continue to get their mail by lunchtime....obviously not you.
The time customers receive mail will depend on where they live on the new delivery route. This may be later or possibly earlier than current delivery times. And when mail volumes vary, delivery arrangements and times may need to change.
A Royal Mail spokesperson added: “The way in which we communicate with each other has changed dramatically. Unfortunately, fewer letters are now posted every day and Royal Mail needs to organise delivery routes to be as efficient as possible. We also deliver more larger items and so we are investing in new equipment to carry these items to customers even more securely. The new equipment also reduces the risk of injury to our postmen and women from carrying heavier mail bags. These changes will require a period of adjustment for staff. Royal Mail will do everything possible to maintain a high level of service.”

Why would you.mahrm1 wrote:Some days also you never see a postman or postwoman who do you put a complaint into about this?
1. There may have been nothing for you.
2. You may have missed them when they were around.
3. It may be a very quite day with most addresses getting nothing.
4. Is it Sunday.
If its a one off thing and not regular (ie 2 or 3 days in a row) then you can make a coplaint through loads of channels including a new one posted in http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =1&t=45155" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: Mail being delivered late afternoon
We had a complaint about this a couple of months ago in a block of flats which gets very little mail as those that have residents work on the local American air base. I was getting trained that day so two of us could confirm we had delivered to the flats but had something like 5 deliveries in 30 flats.mahrm1 wrote:Some days also you never see a postman or postwoman who do you put a complaint into about this?
