This is a key, new and exciting role in the Sector, with responsibility for the effective deployment and development of World Class techniques into operational management. World Class Mail is a comprehensive system for improving safety, quality, productivity, and reducing breakdowns. Supporting the Collection and Delivery Sector Manager, the Champion is the expert on World Class methods in Collections & Delivery, developing the 10 technical pillar leaders, they will also drive the 10 management commitment criteria that are crucial to successful implementation.

There is a lot to learn within a short period of time. Thus,the successful candidate must be willing to commit to personal study to understand the specific and detailed techniques used.

The main purpose of this managerial role is to effectively deploy World Class Mail methods into all aspects of collections & Delivery Offices across the sector. This will be done through identifying and attacking losses and waste, supporting the Collection and Delivery Sector Manager in achieving World Class performance levels through the correct application of tools and techniques, and ensuring the World Class approach is applied to the introduction of new equipment. there will also be a significant contribution to the people development plan by motivating, involving and engaging operator teams.

• A good knowledge of the Collection & Delivery operation and its association with the Process, Access and Distribution functions.
• Knowledge and understanding of World Class Mail tools and techniques and the audit process.
• Educated to degree standard would be desirable but not essential, as long as you can demonstrate the ability to absorb large amounts of information, and apply that learning in your role.
• Thrives in a challenging environment, where people may be apprehensive learning new ways of working, demonstrating constancy, clear decision making and is disciplined to get things done.
