That's what they did in OUR MC recently when we were up for inspection!!!

WCM all the way !!!
Massive support from myself and my family, thanks to the incompetance of all those involved, introducing new ways of working that drag the job out making it last longer with more staff and more overtime...we are having a great summer holiday due to the money I have earnt.
I say lets keep it going a few more years, I fancy an Aston Martin and a new 5 bedroomed house.... ha ha ha.
The professor and his family back home must be having a great laugh at the way the Royal Mail sheep have brought into an idea and payed his family a geat deal of money BAAAA bAAAA!!!!

Rather than continuing to spend money on WCM as if it were a never ending 'money pit' I would do the following:
1. Allow 3 months for WCM sites to complete existing activities and at the same time set up a national forum (CWU/RM) to benchmark the benefits achieved by this initiative with the emphasis on Health and Safety 1st and Cost Effectiveness/Productivity 2nd.
2. For months 3-9 allow deployment of 'known benefits' to all WCM sites and scale down project.
3. Ongoing ... from month 9 onward allow new WCM sites to come on board only if they can deploy with existing structure. WCM project teams to be re-deployed or offered VR.

I work at the new Medway Mail centre and that is supposed to be a WCM flagship. However, some of the practices are quite shoddy over sorting of rlb, vagues etc. People are not always told right what they are supposed to be doing, and still there are not enough people for the jobs in the mailcentre.
They love different charts and their kaizan's. I wonder though, how much they really take on board any suggestions from us, the shop floor people. Also, if only wcm equated to world class managers all round!!

World Class Mail equals job creation for Guvnors. Remember a few years ago when they were told they would have to apply for their own jobs and some of them would be going and they were shitting? Well no worries now! f**k us (posties), customers and the public - as long as we have nice graphs and stuff plus guvnor mug shots on the walls who cares?
