More and more companies in the UK could be looking to take advantage of the cheapness of B2B email marketing strategies as a result of the increase in stamp prices, which came into force on Monday (April 30th).
Content management software company OpenText believes the price rises could prove to be a good thing for the marketing industry in the long run.
This is the biggest postal cost hike companies have had to deal with since 1975 and may have huge ramifications on direct marketing campaigns and budgets.
News editor at Marketing Week Russell Parsons stated last month that increased competition with the Royal Mail would help boost the direct mail industry.
"For businesses, customer communication through traditional direct mail has never been more expensive," OpenText UK's director of field marketing for Europe Adrian O'Gara commented, before adding that opt-in email marketing could see a boost because of its ability to target individuals.
