even if royal mail is taken over by TNT for example
the new company will have to honour our terms and conditions. they cannot regress our T&C
the likes of TNT current employees will have to catch up with us
thats why the goverment cannot sell royal mail at the moment, unlike other operators who have their staff on minimum wage,
we have the

Any owner can change your terms and conditions...Royal Mail can and often do change them already.
It's how they do it that matters....usually it's by agreement but it doesn't have to be....look at the pension changes since 2008.
You can't change T&C's or dismiss staff because of a change in ownership but there is no fixed time scale for when it is no longer due to the change and now becomes business requirements.
Usually it's around 12 months from the change but it's not written in stone.
It's pretty irrelevant anyway because it's more likely to be an IPO sell off and TUPE doesn't even apply in that case.

Re: anyone have a clue
its normally an 18 month process to harmonise T&C
but i can see something like a john lewis sell off rather than a full flotation
