It's no problem Teebs! The fact that Armani can't post a message without swearing amuses me, and he does provide some considerable comic relief to the more serious minded members among us.

It might not help us, but I'm not totally convinced it would harm us either. Here are two sets of scumbags at swords drawn because the toy poodle 'managers' have suddenly realised Royal Mail have robbed their pensions when they thought they were something special. Not so long ago, the Can't Manage Anything we're all smiles as they crossed our picket line waving at the workers. These 'managers' aren't workers, but they are the willing tools of the system (in more ways than one) who happily recommend the dismissal of workers who fall ill. They can look after themselves. I'm much more concerned with how Royal Mail treats the working class.BELIAL wrote:Just curious IWW given the admitedly slim chance that the CMA take action over the pensions robbery and the obvious boost this would give to our cause, you would cross the line. TBT, my statement was made in response to the previous one from IWW.
In my opinion it is sad to want to go to a place of work and look for things to ridicule another human over regardless of business standing.
also in my opinion it is a sign of angerment over something else that would cause it to happen
and desperate to try and bring someone down in that fashion just because they are doing what they are asked of under contract.
It was not a personal slant, just my opinion on what I see of another persons view of a working day.

If you are so againt something and have a very strong belief against whatever it may be. Isn't it better that you distance yourself as far as possible from the thingthat bothers you.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Armani as I put in annoucement and moved to news please reseach before you make comments and dont make personal insults, my tolerance is getting lower and lower after last nights episode (of which you were not part of)

If you had bothered to research the IWW you would find that they are anti-management and therefore his point of view is a political one. Please, if you don't understand his view research them or ask him questions. If you don't agree with his position then please use reasoned and structured argument to present a different view. Resorting to name calling only belittles your own position and argument. The IWW's goal was to promote worker solidarity in the revolutionary struggle to overthrow the employing class; its motto was "an injury to one is an injury to all," which improved upon the 19th century Knights of Labor's creed, "an injury to one is the concern of all." In particular, the IWW was organized because of the belief among many unionists, socialists, anarchists and radicals that the AFL not only had failed to effectively organize the U.S. working class, as only about 5% of all workers belonged to unions in 1905, but also was organizing according to narrow craft principles which divided groups of workers. The Wobblies believed that all workers should organize as a class, a philosophy which is still reflected in the Preamble to the current IWW Constitution:
“ The working class and the employing class have nothing in common. There can be no peace so long as hunger and want are found among millions of the working people and the few, who make up the employing class, have all the good things of life. Between these two classes a struggle must go on until the workers of the world organize as a class, take possession of the means of production, abolish the wage system, and live in harmony with the Earth. ... Instead of the conservative motto, 'A fair day's wage for a fair day's work', we must inscribe on our banner the revolutionary watchword, 'Abolition of the wage system.' It is the historic mission of the working class to do away with capitalism.
in this case IWW has an anti-management stance, then why involve yourself in an establishment where there is that type of culture.
Or is it like I said earlier there is some ''sad'' satisfaction in just being there to agitate someone.
Isn't it the case of it takes a better man to walk away?

You have taken one part of their argument and ignored or missed another. I have bolded the relevant part. They can hardly "struggle until the workers of the world organise as a class" if they are not part of a work force.armani wrote:If you are so againt something and have a very strong belief against whatever it may be. Pastor Martin Niemoller
Archbishop Romero
Jan Palac
The Tolpuddle Martyrs
John James Bezer
Annie Beasant
John Lilburne

We can walk back through history and meet great men and women who fought injustice and played a part in making the world a bit better for many millions. The likes of these bosses men and collaborators with oppression can step back in time and meet their own examples too; Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Franco, Pol Pot, Thatcher, Henry Ford, slave traders, employers of child labour, all manner of corrupt, deceitful, war mongering criminal elements. We have our examples, they have theirs, and I know which of us are the happier for it.

Now, its been taken out of the context it was meant in.
By doing what he (IWW) feels is right, is only trying to degrade the person doing the managers job. If he is sooo against management isn't it better to put himself in a position where he doesn't have be there day in day out.
I'm pretty sure this type of extremism isn't appreciated by all fellow colleagues but some will buckle to the peer pressure and perhaps go along with what you are doing just for an easy life. Thats certainly the way at POL anyway. People agree as they feel obliged to because they sit next to them all day and don't want to upset the ''gobby one'' or extremist for fear of taking it in the neck from them.
I've seen plenty of that, as soon as the extremist goes on A/L or day off they just talk about how nasty/horrible they are but daren't say it to their face.
In what way would having everyone on the same level with no leadership make the place you work any better. I assume thats what is wanted from IWW, that everyone has equal charge.
IMO, you need to have levels of rank/charge as there are far too many people in the world that cannot think for themselves and need pointed in the right direction and also the ones that will try and decide what they should do on a daily basis and unless pushed it will be as little as possible.
The Army have had it for 000's of years and it works

SOOO to paraphrase, most of you out there are cretinous workshy layabouts that need the leadership of a superior being in order to fulfill your limited potential. Anyone capable of independant thought or critical reasoning is quite obviously an extremist.armani wrote:Now, its been taken out of the context it was meant in.

A recipe for intellectual cleansing. We live in a Democracy, if people hold views they are entitled to voice them. If they disagree with the views of the person next to them then they should voice their disagreement, or ask the person not to talk politics in work time. Its is hardly the fault of a vocal minority if the silent majority don't speak up.armani wrote:Now, its been taken out of the context it was meant in.

IWW will probably explain the exact way it works or you could read through this article but as I understand it delegates from the workforce are elected to make the "Managerial" decisions but must accept the same pay and conditions as the rest of the workforce, and must be re-elected by that workforce at regular intervals. Therefore everyone would be entitled to stand for selection and also all would receive the benefits and setbacks on a equal basis. You may not agree with that position but it certainly looks better than us Blue Shirts in Royal Mail getting a 92p Bonus per week (£47.84 for the year) and 1 rung above us gets £1500 - £5,000 bonus this year (£28.84 to £96.15 per week)

That's pretty much the size of it Teebs. Extremist idiots with no initiative (of which Armani is a prime example) obviously need someone to tell them what to do. As for everyone else, they don't need someone to tell them not to murder the next door neighbours, steal from shops, when to fart. In fact, they don't need anyone to tell them how to run their lives for them. Left alone, they would simply get on with it. Extreme fascists like Armani need someone to tell them what to think or how to go about things. The rest of us are able to live in harmony with our fellows and with nature, unlike the extremists who see everything as a business opportunity and everyone as a potential tool for harvesting further profits for their lords and masters.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:A recipe for intellectual cleansing. As for managers, they're extremist bullies who try to pick their mark - the quiet, the new, the vulnerable. It is our duty not to let them get away with it and not rely on so-called 'official' methods to sort them out. Show them up for what they are, and encourage everyone else to do the same. Disarm them by using their own weapons against them.
