query .! is there a minimum time frame between finishing first split and starting the second ??

please explain this split shift

since when does royal mail have split shifts

for a start an 11 hour break between shifts as to the working time directive

thats not part of the working time directive, dont know where you are making that one up from, the working time regulations state that there must be daily rest of 11 uninterupted hours, it apllies to the end of you last shift of the day and start of the first the working next day, so working 8-11 then 3 hour break and then 2-6 is perfectly legal and actually used in a few offices round here, it was an easy way for part timers to get extra contracted hours

in the old days we had 530 till 1045 then 1600 to 1800

in real terms you are doing 8.5 hours max, inclusive of the break between shifts
what sort of gap do you propose between shifts?
