I would like to say that my office isn't working but it is because people aren't using the equipment. and are still coming in early even though if we get done early we have to go back to office some people are just plain stupid.

Which brings us back to that age old question "what constitutes a failing office". I think ft indicated the salient points of what could be classed as a failure but by the same token what constitutes an office that isn't failing? Are all the principles of BT 2010 being observed within the delivery methods model and if not, even though the office is coping, is that a working office?

BTW I did put forward to help with revision year and half back but manager never took me up on it

willow if things are going so well there then perhaps you could explain the abnormally high level of missorts that arrive at our office at 08.30 im not talking a couple of extra trays im talking about 2 yorks of unmeched letters ! never had that problem with mail from southend.

Stafford's revision has gone tits up. The first 2 phases (rurals) went in and there's whole walks being bought back, it was so b ad our Rep said enough's enough and he stuck a disagreement in and said that we were not doing anything else until that's been sorted. So now the town walks are on hold, good news is that we had the £600 up front thanks to a local agreement done by him and the Area Rep.

Just out of Interest,How many offices are there in the Uk?Out of that how many offices are actually working? By working i dont mean on paper but actually clearing all mail,packets,specials and tracked items ,at absolutley no extra cost.By extra cost i mean not on paper but by what is claimed over and above the wage bill for the working week.By the working week I mean the actual duty time,not "back filling",not extended,or by managerial intervention!If their are any offices that can boast all of these functions are performed by the same amount of staff pre-revision,and no extra payments i.e.completed as pre-revision then let us know.If however none of the said can be said to be done then why do we all persist in this nonesense.

Because the union are backing BT2010 to the hilt, good, bad or indifferent results don't seem to matter. Mind you if you embrace the idea to go as far as to perusade the membership to accept it by banging the drum on the roadshow it must be pretty difficult to say "you lads were right and although we are paid to negotiate for you, on this occasion, oh and the last couple of times we didn't exactly nail it............sorry"

Our regional manager gave a speech on Friday that from Tuesday we will not be permitted to cut off,but instead would have to negotiate some of our parcels or packets taken off if we cant complete, otherwise he would make our start and delivery times start later that would especially effect those who have child care issues

My driver doesnt do packets on wednesday and thursday and we still cant complete our rounds either

And yet the union and RM insist they are going to make it work but I wonder if it is truly working anywhere according to BT 2010, weight off shoulders, trolleys, no cars, no job and finish - it makes you wonder that when over 100 offices have reported on here that they are failing, what the true figure is and why it isn't being flagged up the chain and if it is why is it not being taken seriously.

You have hit the nail on the head DVB managers in most offices including mine appear to be encouraging non use of delivery methods in my office the old chestnut of job and finish has reared it's ugly head but only for the corner cutters
