I'm £11.33 (40hr week) without DS included in the hourly rate and i'm outer London, inner London may be about 50pish more, don't forget we get the London weighting thing.Indy wrote:Anyone know how that compares to what a London OPG's paid? and the Holiday rates etcfishtank wrote:http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... al#p478031" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Indy wrote:What they pay the "delivery people"* and the T&C's of there employment is going to be very interesting.!
And that's in London.Pay would be £7.10 an hour. Basic under performing would be NMW only. Pay increases would be up to £8.10-50 and held there unless you get promoted of course. Get 28 days paid holiday each holiday year, statutory sick pay for more than 3 days, good pension scheme, Right allowance programme for travel if needed and get various bonuses also. Until I start I can't comment on the training quality, workload, working environment or other positions pay rates etc. I'll post an update in the near future if it is any use to you or others I guess.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Interesting on the redi thing...
We recognise how important it is to have mail forwarded when moving home, which is why we are keen to offer this service. Our hope is to do this with minimal inconvenience to addressees, ideally we will have access to Royal Mail Redirection customer information to allow us to ensure all mail is forwarded regardless of which postal operator delivers the mail.
We have raised this matter with OfCOM, the postal regulator, and their predecessor Postcomm. Unfortunately we have not yet been granted access. We will continue to discuss with both OfCOM and Royal Mail.
It may help to know that the type of mail we will be delivering are bills and statements so we would strongly urge you to ensure that your bank, credit card suppliers and other organisations you deal with have your new address before you move.
We sincerely regret that we are unable to offer a redirect service at the present time.

So the logical next question would be, is TNT going to drag down RM wages OR are we gonna drag TNT's up?POSTMAN wrote:I'm £11.33 (40hr week) without DS included in the hourly rate and i'm outer London, inner London may be about 50pish more, don't forget we get the London weighting thing.Indy wrote:Anyone know how that compares to what a London OPG's paid? and the Holiday rates etcfishtank wrote:http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... al#p478031" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;Indy wrote:What they pay the "delivery people"* and the T&C's of there employment is going to be very interesting.!

From Facebook...
My colleague in West London has just had a delivery from TNT letters. It arrived at 3.30 and he had a bill that should have been redirected and the chap posted his next bill into next door.... Can see us being blamed for this ?

Royal Mail agree to redirect Down Stream Access mail ( with an 'S' in the top right corner of the envelope ) but not anything those companies have failed to deliver properly themselves.

Re: TNT:Message from Moya Greene
Letters brought back through system with TNT stamp on it are ALL to be sent back to TNT and surcharged as royal mail policy. TNT posties are on a 3 day week and a 10 hour day, and believe me they will be working full hours! No job and finish for them. Their post pouces are 1/10 the size of ours and all mail gets dropped to there pouches on there bikes.
Already had many complaints in our office with wrong deliveries etc, can see troubles ahead! The service they give can not match royal mails service as they do not have the experience.
However it must be worth the money otherwise why bother with investments into bikes, uniforms, depots, pouches etc etc.
Been told aswell they had to sign confidentiality agreement to NOT talk to any member of royal mail. I have witness a few in west london already looking lost and clueless.
Plus today we had the lightest tuesday, letters-wise, for years! Coincidence? Hmm
