Re: Nesting your door to door items...
no its actually condoned in our office, putting 5or 6 sets in separately takes longer to deliver when you,re out, but it also slows down you,re prepping in rate. besides, according to rm, they are ''supposedly'' going to have d2ds pre-collated(put together) to make it even quicker to prep in. this was one of their selling points when they removed the d2d cap when all this s**t was introduced.

The price RM charge is based largely on the weight of the item.5plusbonusball wrote:It's about time they paid by the size of the d2d, pay more to send out a 2 page a4 leaflet (like farmfoods), pay less if it's a scabby a5 postcard, that way then the dearest items will be seen first.
At the moment all the craap is the same price so it gets there however easier it is for me. Also if I have 5 of the same size d2d I can't guarantee which piece will land on the top .![]()
p.s it's about time they banned them directline cheque book like d2d's.
Thereafter the quantity.
Once quantities exceed 200,000 then different rates kick in for different postcodes. You can download a PDF from RM's website detailing which postcodes fall into which bands.

Perhaps if RM put them together in envelopes as was stated would happen ppl would then have time to deliver this JUNK mailfishtank wrote:It's about the real customers.
The one's who pay us to deliver their D2D.
They don't want to spend thousands on a marketing campaign just to find their leaflet stuffed inside another where no-one can see it.
That isn't childish...it's common sense.

Re: Nesting your door to door items...
Why would any company sending d2d pay out for them to be delivered in an envelope when the person at the other end could then bin them all in one go without even looking at one?malcolm3011 wrote:Perhaps if RM put them together in envelopes as was stated would happen ppl would then have time to deliver this JUNK mailfishtank wrote:It's about the real customers.

Its not what the customer wants! If it was then we'd be getting our mail before 10am. Its about what the advertisers want. They were apparently complaining that customers just got hold of the junk mail and binned it before looking through it and the smaller stuff nested in there wasn't being seen by the customer.
Hence the banning of nesting.

It was always a non starter.
The logistical problems of collating and packaging 6 or more different shaped and sized D2D along with the fact that you have multiple sectors in a D.O. each with a different D2D profile then you have the fact that the sender doesn't want it(less exposure),the union shouldn't want it(less indoor prep time/full-time jobs) and the benefit to RM is debatable(less indoor time against higher processing cost).
The only real question is did anybody really believe it would happen?

Re: Nesting your door to door items...
I don't really think the advertisers care, so long as it gets their message out , they don't even know who's getting the stuff or if it's the right area (internet in a none bt area etc.)
I think some muppets in d2d dept just plonk them on a york and randomly stick a d.o. postcode on it.
"Oh look direct line shish, they can have them again next week ", all the free butter ones seem to have dried up. I used to select my fave customers with them and give some half a dozen and some nasty people none.

Everyone in the entire country is a customer and there is the main problem.PhilthyPhil wrote:But the advertisers are our customers.Postal Postie II wrote:Its not what the customer wants! As a customer I want my mail delivered in the morning not about 6pm and I don't want junk mail. Yes I can opt out but why should I? I didn't ask for it in the 1st place!
