who's coping with trolleys?

Well Royal, what I do now is also called work, but I use a method of delivery that has been successful for decades, takes the weight off the shoulder, which a trolley can never do, is far less damaging and in fact therapeutic to the rest of the b ody, and if RM and the CWU had carried out any kind of comparative exercise for deliveries they would have come to a conclusion that the pedal cycle could have been developed to carry as much mail/packets as the new trolley, would have been cheaper, greener than throwing thousands of vans on the streets. By the way a trolley is supposed to be pulled, not pushed.

sounds a bit dangerous to me Wouldnt fancy stop starting a cycle with 80 kg of mail on board.

So you are pulling a trolley with 80kg on board? 40kg in each bag. I don,t think so.
As I have quoted in another thread, postmen in Eire are using cycles that have been adapted to carry two bags on the front, by supporting the tray with two bogey wheels that are retractable. The cycle then becomes far more stable when loaded, and the wheels are retracted to enable the cyclist to move faster when unloaded. Weight off the shoulders totally, unless you want to be picky and say that the bags have to be loaded on to the cycle tray. The technology is there, but has failed to be recognised by RM or CWU.
