Glad to know you've got second hand knowledge of the place, sorry my info must be wrong because I work in the place.halfull wrote:ha not what ive heard! ive heard nobody is using methods & the walks have been planned too small and people are making tuns of time so great guns i dont think so!labbloke wrote:Yes still going great guns.Cheers, what about Wolverhampton, still going ok?
Everyone uses CDV's---no more PCOD
No-one carries a 16kg bag any more.
Over time the workload and how to deliver it in the new way has settled down. Out of 150 walks including town HCT's, some are finishing before their time, the majority are finishing at their time, on a heavy day a dozen or so book time.
Of course what do I know.

Are the CDVs using the LCTs - because that's the first failure of the revisions to date.labbloke wrote:Glad to know you've got second hand knowledge of the place, sorry my info must be wrong because I work in the place.halfull wrote:ha not what ive heard! ive heard nobody is using methods & the walks have been planned too small and people are making tuns of time so great guns i dont think so!labbloke wrote:Yes still going great guns.Cheers, what about Wolverhampton, still going ok?

LCT's ?
Do you mean the LWT?
When needed.Yes
Not needed for flats or cul de sacs or when only got a bundle to deliver.
It would be stupid to pull an empty trolley around, dont you think?

Re: Wolverhampton to Go 100% Full time
hahaha! nobody in your office uses the trolleys which is the single biggest part of the revisions! to take weight off shoulder! so you know nobody in their on a heavy day when pushed for time is carrying a overweight bag?? i think not my friend, wolverhampton has failed like the rest as the walks should be completed using a lwt. And how often can you use a bundle with the amount of packets we now get? unless you move the van 30 times which is not following how the walks were planned. So you might work there but your knowledge & understanding of how things should be done are quite embarrassing & too me laughable!labbloke wrote:LCT's ?

Half-full I think your name says everything about you, whereas I am ever the eternal optimist.
FYI, Single bundles can be carried and a couple of parcels in your 5kg bag can be carried, and yes good planning of the route can enable you to do a huge amount of the round without pulling an empty trolley.
But hey I bow to your superior knowledge of how things work in my workplace.

Re: Wolverhampton to Go 100% Full time
you obviously do not do a walk and work in the mail centre pushing buttons but anyway i cannot get over your lack of understanding of how delivery works, right let me break it down simply,if i had to break my walk down into one bundle at a time i wud have over 25-30 loops each with 3-7 packets in,right the time for moving the van for each of these loops would alone blow the dutybuilder apart let alone the stop start element. you see if you did a walk you would realize if people are allowed to carry pouches they pack them too heavy as its human nature to do things the quickest way which is why lwt were brought in. And no 5kg can only be carried in flats or where a h&s rep has risk assest. if you do the loops the way a planner plans you never have a empty trolley except at the end of a loop but you would not know this as you have no clue of how the real work gets done.labbloke wrote:Half-full I think your name says everything about you, whereas I am ever the eternal optimist.

labbke:TNT to be the likely buyers in my opinion and then an element of the Dutch housewives delivery model to be introduced.labbloke wrote:Halfull

A largish reduction in posties, some retained to sort and bundle up rounds and then deliver to local estates for self employed housewives etc to deliver,( no minimum wage, T and Cs, sick pay , holiday pay, pension etc)
Sounds impossible eh, but this is what TNT are now using when they have taken over other countries Mail services.
A great post from you here again shows you lack of knowledge as tnt have now been purchased by ups & might i say a very sexist post from you with a few negative comments towards women & how they could be involved in the business. oh and yes this is really the post of an optimist! give me a break!

Re: Wolverhampton to Go 100% Full time
On the plus side Halfull ,any flotation /sale would see a management cull of around 40% ,and given trades unions recent track record of protecting terms,I can't see many of them emerging with a favourable settlement
Bye

Wow ! Average about 16 bundles for whole walk (and some of them are really small)
Wow ! Average about 20 packets (if that) for whole walk
Wow ! Must be some really monster walks out there
