The same with all those stupid TV programmes with voting by the public who then can't be bothered to make their way to a polling station and end up, egged on by the Daily Mail, moaning about all the wrong decisions made by politicians.
I think this is the line of questioning our union should be taking instead of once again kowtowing to corporate sensibilities which maintain the imbalances and injustices within in our divided communities and society. To agree to another layer of competition and play Simon Cowell with the shortcomings of an economic system where even in western democracies wages for the majority of working people have fallen against GDP since the 1980s is trying to put the fire out with gasoline. There are now more charities than ever before and the question our union should be asking is why is this case.So yes help and get involved with good causes but also put this in some sort of ideological context otherwise its S&M morality.
the union/unions just do deals , they have no intention of changing the status quo. lets face it the system does really well for the top 10% . they have never been more wealthier and if they cock it up , they get the peasants to bail them out. Osbourne said today he didnt realise how little the rich were paying in tax, some getting away with only paying 10% .... do me a favour !!!! they mug us off all the time
"why should it just be the bankers, politicians and the idle rich who get all the best things ? we demand a standard of living for our members that enables them to share in the fine wines and times that the likes of Cameron and his Eton buddies take for granted " - the late great Bob Crow RIP.

Colleagues have raised more than £2.4 million, and a cheque was presented by our fundraisers.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ours went in the bin with the rest of the junk,if i had to choose it would be an animal charity.

For me charity begins at home, unless it is a genuine charity,i for one are not up for lining the pockets of a buisness dressed up as a charity.

Binned mine, they'll only spend the money on free pens and junk mail. Charity begins at home, I donate occasionally.

It was not to get you to donate. It was an exercise to let employees choose which Charity becomes Royal Mails official charity. No money involved, no donations asked for. The actual choice is made at the same time you fill in the Mori Poll/HYS Survey.

Whizz-Kidz

Will i suggest probably come out as the top choice as it's would appeal to the outdoor delivery drivers' sense of humour (imagine a sticker on your van like the Barnado ones) Whizz-Kidz it's a winner. Of course the other two charities are worthy of support as well.
