A Royal Mail postman is embarking on his longest ever round as he trundles his trolley 150 miles across the country, including Gloucester - before delivering a single letter.
Mike Chandler, 55, will wend his way on foot through Ross-on-Wye, Gloucester, Oxford and Buckinghamshire, running the length of a marathon every day for a week before ending in London.
As if that was not enough, he will then ditch his postie's trolley and take up his place in the London Marathon.
The feat, which will see him clock up nearly 180 miles, is to raise money for breast cancer charity The Haven.
Running without vehicle support, Mr Chandler will set off from The Haven's Hereford centre with his trolley full of food and fresh clothes.
He expects to reach the charity's base in London six days later, hand-delivering a letter on arrival.
En route he will stop overnight in Witney, where he grew up and his mother died of breast cancer when he was just 16.
After making it to the capital, he will line up for the London Marathon on Sunday April 22.
He hopes his effort will help him raise £20,000 for The Haven, which offers one-to-one support to anyone affected by breast cancer.
Mr Chandler said: "I'm in rude health and full of beans and I'm very aware that the people I'm running for are not. I know I'm very lucky in that respect."
