I wouldn't worry, I haven't finished my P/L walk on a wednesday or thursday since we started 9 months ago.
We normally cut off 2 to 4 loops and we dont even attempt the Large packets.
The Doms have made extra walks to make ours and others smaller but we have put in a dissagreement because the still haven't paid us our £200.
Until they do we carry on cutting off

I have to ask the 6 step process is a joint process so why are some offices signing of a revison when they don't either think it's will work or support the revison. Yes I would criticise any rep who did not put the vote to the members and I would criticise any rep area divisional or headquarters who did not support an office who did not want to agree a revison or had implemetented a revison which did not work and had bullying by management.

But I also have to ask why do some offices , members or reps not do more to stop a revison if they have not agreed it.? It's no good people coming on here and moaning about things if they have not done enough to stop it in their own office.

Now unlike some on here I am happy to blame CWU HQs when I think it is their fault but sometimes the blame has to be aimed elsewhere if some members , reps , area reps , Branch's , divisions have not done ther jobs right. remember no one has had a revison introduced by executive action so why are some areas forcing management to the right deals whilst others simply accept whatever management put in front of them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

You've been asking that for 18 months now.
Does it really matter any more how they got themselves or whether others got them into a mess?
Surely all that matters now is how we get these offices out of the mess they are in.

Perhaps one of the reasons was that the promised training for reps wasn't carried out and when it was it was insufficient. The 100 BSI was pushed and pushed and is STILL being chattered about. P&L was a new system of working which was totally alien to the previous methods, the planning was carried out by planners with georoute and NOBODY knew what the end result was going to be...................it was a bit like HOW LONG IS A PIECE OF STRING.

It has taken 16 months to try to rectify the problems unearthed from the original revision. The delivery methods using trolleys is still being ignored and so that is a failure in itself. Despite input, problems still exist, even with an acceptance vote once the revision has been deployed what are you going to do?
You canot undo the chages to the frames, the method of delivery, the opals.

Some of the statements you see on here expose a naivete of delivery matters and the introduction of BT 2010 in the extreme.

BSI bullshit . Define 100 BSI
Management says "you are working at 80 BSI and clearing all mail"; Management says ,"we want you to work at 100 BSI" and clear all mail;management saves 20%
Truth is you already work at 100+ BSI,kin ell no bonus or incentive (weirdos),funny thing is ,although management liars tell you, you work at 80 BSI and when cornered admit 100+ BSI is true figure ,guess what they feed into the IWT ? 100 BSI? :no no ;80 BSI :no no,try 70 BSI :left:
End result is you are required to achieve 130 BSI (ACAS thinks 75 BSI is a fair and reasonable level)

100 BSI (referred to as Standard Rating) - Brisk, businesslike performance as of an average qualified worker on piecework; necessary standard of quality and accuracy achieved with confidence.
Source ILO (International Labour Office) "Introduction to Work Study" .... basically the IE Bible

That's why I keep saying a 'genuine' 75 BSI should be the business standard - in most manufacturing industries performance above 75 BSI is only targetted when piecework or bonus schemes come into play. The CWU should know this ... it really is basic stuff !!!

This all assumes that all the workload is covered with accurate PVs etc taking into account relaxation and contingency allowances. If people are gullible enough to accept a target of 100 BSI then what is to stop RM from increasing it to 125 BSI next year ??

Dingo, I wasn’t moaning, I was just pointing out that our experience of the D.M. Revision was very different to the process that is cited on here and I was asking who actually represented us.

The process that our office went through was one of imposition rather than involvement. A planner, a line manager and our union rep drew up the new walks. We were neither consulted nor involved at any stage.

When we tackled our rep we were basically told to put up with it. We have never been asked to verify any of the data used. We don’t even know what data was used. Since its implementation eight months ago, the rep has never once asked us how we were getting on, whether we needed help, whether we felt there were things that should be changed. The only “tweaking” I’m aware of that has gone on is altering our start & finish times. We have never been asked to sign-off on anything nor have we had a vote on anything.

People have lost heart. No one wants to go out on a limb on their own. The office has accepted it as a fait accompli. Had we had some support, some guidance, been told what the process was at the outset then maybe collectively we could have got a better deal for ourselves. As it is, it is now much too late.

As for Area Reps, well in the eight years that I’ve been with RM, I’ve never even seen one, let alone had the opportunity to speak to one.

That is the reality of the Revision in our office. No, it’s not what you or other senior union officials foresaw or wanted but it was has happened and I don’t suppose we are unique in that respect.
