'Course he does. A bloke down the pub said it, and he probably read it in the Daily Mail, so it must be true. Rants against what he perceives as prejudice then spouts a nice line in prejudice himself. Weird....."The British workers are lazy". Seriously? you think thats true?

fabian, realy, ime not a quaker, freemason, or anything else.
and to put the record straight, you mention unions and toll puddle
it was the unions WHO PROMOTES the benefits of europe when i obtained my diploma in polictical science. in fact one of my tutors was a senior member of a well known union
so stop reading the likes of the daily mail and start studying what europe does . ime not saying its perfect, but it is better than nothing to let the goverment of the day have a free hand.
you do not see the other 26 member states complaning like our politicians do you. they are more open minded and not introvert

Maybe if you had carried on to degree level political (pseudo)science, you would learn that all 3 main political parties are pro E.U, clue: look at what they do, not what they say. And the british workers being lazy mantra is both fabian and daily mail/gaurdian/telegraph, you see they are not presenting opposing views, just the establishment views, repackaged for their assumed demography.
Political science.. good grief, I hope you wasted your own money and not the taxpayers.

Are you sure about that one, dvb? The reason I question it is that we lost child benefit when my son, who was born in the UK and is a British national, went to live abroad.dvbuk55 wrote:- - - what I take umbrage at is the fact that they can have family allowance for children that reside outside the UK....

Re: Christopher Booker/Sunday Telegraph
It is a loophole in the child benefit regulations 2003. The regulations state that Child Benefit is payable to a parent 'whose child is abroad and receiving an education'; unfortunately this has created a loophole for immigrants. some men come to the UK leaving their family at home, while they are here their children are abroad and receiving an education, therefore they qualify. To make mattes worse the requirement for child tax credit is that you have child benefit (the child does not have to be 'resident and present' in the UK) so they get that as wellStraight4ward wrote:Are you sure about that one, dvb? The Government have stated they will close this loophole. The whole regulation was poor in my opinion as it was designed to allow those who were rich enough to send their kids abroad to finishing school access to child benefit and I don't think that's appropriate either.
I'm assuming this answers your question S4................it's recent and I assume the loophole hasn't been closed.
