Anyone had any work recently?
I applied 3 months ago for Mail sorter in Belfast and just 3 weeks ago they finally got back to me. I went to my assessment etc. filled out the forms and the guy said that I would get a phone call from them. As of yet I still havent and everyday I hve been going on the RM website to check my application and it was still as "interview booked" So i decided to email them this morning and wouldnt you know all of a sudden my application status has changed to "Processing security & ID checks" I've read a lot of the comments on this site about them and unfortunately it does sound as if they are very unprofessional and you constantly have to chase them up
However there are obsolutely no jobs going in Belfast so this is pretty much my only option to try and get some cash

Re: Anyone had any work recently?
I was there at Xmas, got laid off for a little bit and did a few shifts a week. I'm now on my 5th full week. Only earning £6.58 for night shift though. Apparently, I'm supposed to get a pay rise, breaks etc because I've been there for over 12 weeks but I haven't heard anything about it. Angard don't phone me anymore because I always swear at them. Probably because they still owe me £250 from Xmas. Oh, and for 6 weeks, they paid me 1p in wages.
And the above is typical of Angard, I'm sorry to say.
Good luck though

Re: Anyone had any work recently?
If you have worked for 12 weeks - at least once per week without a 6 week gap you would have qualified for AWR. There are various threads on this forum about it.
The RM place you work at will still request pay as if you have not qualified for AWR until Angard tell them you qualified. Angard will not tell them automatically - I had to request Angard tell RM after my 3rd week of AWR qualification (short story: they failed to pay me at all my first week, then paid 2 weeks the following week but payslip was so late I had my 3rd week paid before I knew they hadnt automatically changed my pay rates). Still "discussing" getting my correct pay for this (last 3 weeks of February).
Unfortunately, the way they work you need to effectively harrass them for everything you are entitled to. Bearing in mind some people qualified for AWR on the 24th December we are still awaiting new Terms and Conditions with respect to absolutely everything.

No. Haven't worked at RM since leaving at Xmas. Finally got the P45 on Monday. Am working at Yodel, through an agency.

The P45 were sent by mistake Angard said.
They had a computer Glitch and sent out 1000s of P45.
That agency is Doomed
I suggest that anyone with P45s received this week is to ring Angard and speak to them

As a full-time RM employee, I really don't know how you lot hold it all together.
You all deserve medals, in my eyes. Were I in your position, I would have lost it completely,
mass breakdown or mass murder, I'm not sure which.
Good luck to you all, though if you want to borrow my chain-saw let me know.

From what I can tell it has taken about the usual amount of time for your application to move to processing security etc ... what you have to remember though that even after all that passes and you move on to the actual work stage , you still may be sitting around the house for weeks waiting for a call to go in for work.franufc08 wrote:I applied 3 months ago for Mail sorter in Belfast and just 3 weeks ago they finally got back to me. You have to remember your a casual worker so dont plan on getting a regular income of money if any at all.
I have been extremely lucky this last week getting 50+ hours of work from the mail centre I am at , but although thats great , I could be sitting around the house wondering if thats my lot for the next couple of weeks which has been the case quite a few times.
You will also find that if the mail centre you have applied for already uses a regular couple of casuals , that they will keep calling them directly rather requesting new bodies from angard which they would have to spend time getting them up to speed etc which does kinda suck for new angard starters.

Re: Anyone had any work recently?
DO NOT WORK FOR ROYAL MAIL THROUGH ANGARD< AKA REED>CO. I am going to take the matter of Anghard, aka Reed to the attention of BBC Moneybox. I accepted a recent 'holiday filler' with them and said 'Will I be experiencing the same difficulties with pay as I did as a Christmas Casual. They assured me no. This is now the third week that I am waiting for my money. On phoning there was a very bored, utterly incompetent 'front line' operative, who asked me for my bank details, and said I had been paid. i told him the bank details were incomplete and could I speak to a Manager. His words ' Managers do not take calls, we do'. I informed him if I did not get [paid this week I was going to ACAS, Moneybox, and newspapers.
Are you reading this you silly little, 'operative'. And Anghard I suggest you give your Office Staff notice as you will not be much longer in business. You are a DISGRACE and not fit for purpose.
