It looks quite bad in places :shock:

How they let it get in that state i would never know. Looks like someone may have been driving a car over it to crack the slabs like that. :hmmmm

Mind you i always love the random comments from Joe public.

Comment

I got the fright of my life the other day. The parcel guy had actually come in my home and left the parcel in the hallway, whilst I had been doing a number 2. I'll never leave the front door unlocked again.

Royal Mail spokeswoman [...] said they had written to customers informing them of the ban.
She said: 'We will not compromise on the safety of our colleagues.

"Staffordshire County Council, which is responsible for the paths, says that the pavements on the Grange estate are the responsibility of residents as part of their contract with Wimpey, which built the homes." - so Royal Mail will have done the residents a favour in getting whoever really is responsible to finally repair the paths. :Very Happy

Many many years ago I lived not a great distance from the Grange Estate, was well acquainted with a woman living in Elm Walk and remember the houses being somewhat gerry built, it being no surprise then that the paving wasn't laid to last. :sad:

28 Penkridge homes still without any post in footpaths row
http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2012 ... paths-row/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Twenty-eight homes on a Penkridge estate are still without post in a dispute over the poor state of the pavements – and Royal Mail says it will not back down until they are repaired.

Deliveries were suspended six weeks ago after a postman tripped on an uneven footpath and suffered a serious injury.

In the past fortnight, mail has resumed to 12 households after the Royal Mail worked out another way to reach the properties, avoiding the front pavement.

In a further development, Penkridge Post Office has also agreed to be the alternative address for the 28 homes still affected until further notice.

Previously residents had to make a 14-mile round trip to Royal Mail’s Stafford depot to pick up their post.

Twenty properties in Elm Walk, where the pavement problem is worst, are still without their deliveries. A further eight homes on Grange Road are also yet without post.

Deliveries have resumed to houses in Wolverhampton Road and Lime Walk.

Royal Mail said it would review the situation only when improvements were made to the paths.
