What's happening down your way?

Post by POSTMAN »

Simple enough, have you had exec action yet?have you done your deal?
Are you on the vans or not? and if you are why?
Are you getting grief, and are things a mare at your place?
Cheers,oh and don't be shy!!
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

What's happening down your way?

last saturday, the Line managers gave a brief on the pay deal, the funniest thing about it was the part about D2D items. I think they were saying that we will only get paid for 3 lots even if we deliver more than 3. Well at that point the line manager was laughed out of the aisle.

Next week will be the end of our office revision, we are getting extra duties put into the office and the rest are being made more equal and around the 3 1/2 delivery span. I know we should have had this done during SDD but we got screwed. So now we are screwed more because any extra savings the bussiness is after are virtually none existent now.

Not many members on the vans at the mornings, more and more going out in their cars. In fact the drivers dont even wait for the postmen who choose to stay for their meal relief prior to deliver, surely the should be a law or something whcih forces the employer to make sure staff take their breaks????

WE ARE NOT ON THE VANS BECAUSE WE ARE TASK AND FINISH,YOU ONLY COME BACK IF YOU ARE CUTTING OFF,WOULD NOT BE FEASABLE ANY WAY FOR THE VANS SINCE WE ARE VERY SPREAD OUT
ARE WE GETTING GREIF
YES
IS IT A MARE
YES
AND ON TOP OF THAT OUR REP IS TRYING TO KILL SENIORITY,AND DRIVE MANY PEOPLE OUT OF THE UNION BY HIS ACTIONS
ON THE BRIGHT SIDE GEO ROUTE HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS PROBLEMS AND IT IS COSTING RM DEAR,AND MANY OF THE PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO LEAVE HAVE MANAGED TO DO SO ON THEIR TERMS,THE REST OF US ARE BUYING LUBRICANT BECAUSE WE ARE GOING TO BE GETTING SHAFTED

YES we are on the vans and have been since December 4 06 with 100% support. reason being simply to save jobs, no slack time any more now that we're not cutting corners!

Executive action- Borderline, we do get kept on IPS sometimes but then deliveries fail i.e cut-offs.

No efficiency savings yet but plenty of proposals going around, the Reps just keep refusing to discuss them in line with National guidelines.

Loads of intimidation by managers going on, nearly had another walk-out on Friday when a female postlady was in tears for 3/4 hr after a meeting with managers, suffice to say she is now of sick for however long. Own Goal springs to mind!

Everyone is now just waiting for the National Ballot and praying that it will be a big YES vote! I know that we'll return a 90% ++ yes I just hope that the rest of the country is somewhere close aswell

well in my office we have waited and still are for a complete office resign.this was first announced in september. :funneh this is no joke. management scrapped 3 duties so save money our rep agreed to this in fact he did it to safe guard his own job  our rep has now been off for 6 months the line managers are doing whatever they want with no opposition. we have more reserves than actual posties as its a fight for the empty duties. the dom is the worst in our sector "official" since the have your say survey. the drivers on the vans please themselves. we have a later starting time as the ferries are later. posties just now come in when they like. from 4am to 5.30. the whole place is a farce. oh and we have just employed 6 more staff even though we are over60k overour budget last year and still they have asked us for savings. :pray life here just gets better. as yet not seen any of our competitors.but the mail is dropping off and any time you make is your own. and don't forget no booking overtime on mondays tuesdays or wednesdays.

We have agreed our revision - 50 walks reduced to 45 - but are refusing to implement until such time as there is an agreement on wages. People still arrive at 04.30 for a 06.00 start and 20 people are using private cars on delivery. No wonder RM think they can squeeze even more out of us. All they see is posties finished their duty by midday.
