They would know who used it last, when and where.
The difference between a genuine mistake in losing a PDA and the dishonesty of trying to hide the fact is usually a P45. :wave

Well some of those procedures obviously leave a lot to be desired. Our PDAs are signed for and handed out daily and checked back in daily! There's a system in place to renew duff batteries and for reporting faults. Very handy leaving dud PDAs for a colleague :thumbdown

Ours are numbered,it is a free for all and you get what you get but they are numbered and you sign for that numbered one.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Ours are also numbered. P&L have two per vehicle each PDA has the vehicle number and walk number on it, rural vans and bulks vehicle and duty number, walkers don't take PDAs.

That's right, we have a charger and we struggle to charge it.

One of the guys in our office (when I worked there) lost a PDA while I was on my 1 in 6. I was the one who asked where it was as I was sort of "in charge" of them i.e. maintenance, making sure they were labelled up etc. No one could tell me where it had gone and the DOM didn't seem a*sed about it's whereabouts either. I asked if we could get a replacement from the person who we ask for replacements and one was never sent.

i know somebody in my office who lost a pda whilst out oin delivery, he got let off it with a warning, so they may be ok! i guess if its stolen tho it cud b seen as gross misconduct so perhaps they wont b so lucky! if its a genuine accident tho sacking wud b very harsh as we are all human

Does that mean you left it on the step with the item?

No he slipped the item, which I think means he "Red Carded" them.

I once while doing collections lost the PDA retraced my steps found the PDA in the road :pray must have dropped it when getting back in the van. The worse part it was school run and cars and coaches must have missed it, I was soooo lucky :Very Happy
