Well as much as I feel your management are being very picky about this and in many offices they would not be so strict. You don't seem to have helped yourself really have you? Why are you continually late? Is it that hard to get up ten minutes earlier?

If I get in a few minutes early I get a coffee or go for a cig and always start bang on time. I give them no scope to find fault, but none of my time for free either.

Good luck with it but let's face it if you were really bothered about keeping your job, you would have started getting in on time wouldn't you? :hmmmm

Judgee that's an arrogant position to take . He's been dismissed for minor thing yes he's been late , yes he could have got there earlier , but your missing the point , rm managers r trying to dismiss hard working people on petty things ,it was this lad today , it was me last week , it could be you next , your not as safe as you think , they want to trim the eorkforce it's there hidden agenda . You only have to read what your colleagues in other depos r going through with jumped up management who will issue stages take u down the conduct code at any given point . Good luck with your appeal m8 I hope you get one over on them

What's going on with rm management , if you've signed in 1-2 minutes after your scheduled time of starting and thats part of the reason theryre dismissing you , than u feel for u m8 because I find that very petty indeed , I could understand 10- 30 minutes late every day , they're idiots m8 . R u working your notice period now if you've got your appeal hearing

Yes they want to trim the workforce and it isn't a secret so why the do people give them the ammunition? Most employers have the same attitude to turning up late, it's not something unique to RM. Why moan they are kicking you out when you have given them an reason to?
If you know they are looking to trim the work force why the hell would you give them and excuse to get rid of you? How is this missing the point, should RM be easier on thier workforce than most of the employers in the country? It would be nice but you are deluded if you think they are going to treat us better than any other employer! Booting someone out for constantly turning up late is something that happens in many companies, even ones that aren't looking to get rid of staff! Doing something like this when it is avoidable is just asking for trouble.

I know my job is not safe, no one in RM has a safe job. But I'm not handing them mine on a plate and if that makes me arrogant then fair enough! :speak to the hand

Good response judgee , my point is that he said he was 1-2 minutes over the scheduled clocking on time . I believe that's not extreme enough to warrant being dismissed for . They maybe other factors , but you must understand how angry and frustrated he must feel , in my view , It's disgusting the way workers r being treated , I found out what these so called managers r like through my own problemsc, you r right come on on time finish on time , don't give them anything on return . Your no better thought off if you do all the ot going , to the man who does none . Which shows me what a s**t company rm r .

yeah working my notice period right now,

okay more than 30 people are late into work on a daily basis, and i believe pretty much the manager who started the ball rolling with my late attendance did so because i put a grievance in due to me being treated unfairly by him, and than as i know it RM managers stick together and what I've seen of notes is the grievance was part up held so my points did bear truth some what, i do love my job and always give 100%, yes i was late and i did start coming into work early after that, but still they decided to make a case on it, and dismissed me for it, even the union find that harsh, and even my conduct history is incorrect

one thing i have come to is no matter who it is even if your the managers best friend they will always side with the manager when it comes to a grievance

and like someone mentioned above, you work hard you do your piece but still get ****ed over for it, and just see the managers laugh at your pain and the stress they cause

i hope everything goes well with you to Jayfin

there is always a silver lining

If 30 other people were coming in late, you were the only one dismissed over it and you can prove it you could pursue the matter as victimisation maybe?

For what it's worth I haven't come across anyone that has left the RM voluntarily or otherwise, that has regretted it in any way shape or form. They are all healthier and happier!

I do sometimes think perhaps I should start taking chances so that if I get the sack I have to leave. Bit like an abused dog I keep going back to RM for another kicking time after time I just can't seem to escape, perhaps I just need a shove! :hmmmm

it is victimisation
no doubt about it, everyone else's is brushed under the carpet where as mine led to fact findings and what not and caused undue stress all the while

You've still got your appeal to go m8 ,stay positive , try to bring something new to the table at your Appeal . Otherwise they will probably stick by the dismissing managers decision . Throw everything you've got at them take in any documents what you might think will help your case . Try to put doubt in their minds that they've done something wrong . I did the above and it didn't help me , if they think there going to lose at an et they still
Might dismiss if they still think they've got grounds . It's a win win for them , look at it like this I would have had another 20 years service . It's cheaper to pay a p.t than me , even if I win my et they don't have to reinstate me which is wrong , and compo depending on your case could range 2000 to 20000 maybe still cheap way of trimming their staff and getting u off theyre wage bill , I through everything I had and they know I've got grounds for unfair dismissal basically at the point of dismissal I should have been on a stage two and not up for dismissal , they know they made errors . Still didn't help me at appeal ,union reps saw it ,Lino ,dim . All agreed I shouldnt be sacked but the appeal manager wouldn't overturn the dismissing managers decision .

how long has your ET been going on for?

Ive got documents to show i was wrongly dismissed and also it should never have come to this stage i have plenty of backing, even the union reps from top to bottom were thinking how the f**k could you get dismissed for that especially 5 months on since the case started

I was dismissed january ,worked my notice up until march , my et is in June . Make sure you get your et in m8 there's guys on here who advised me there's time restrictions on when you've got to submit an et . There's alot guys going through the same thing .from what your posted m8 it does seem harsh , I my depo we had a signing on sheet I'd say 25% of the workers signed in , people turned up 30 -to an hour late . And it got overlooked they just made the time up at the end of the day .didn't help the guys out on ips lol. I was never l8 . A senior guy would come in sat morning and Monday morning l8 because he'd been out the nights before , I brought this ip with my Lino and the response was he's always done it , but I guarantee you if I did it I would have been pulled up . That's rm managers .
