The 32-year-old was restrained by one man as they other grabbed his money.
A man has been robbed of a three-figure sum of cash after being attacked as he left a post office.
The 32-year-old walked out the shop in Ormiston, East Lothian just before 10am on Friday carrying the money.
Two men came out from the rear archway of the building before one of them grabbed the victim. The other man grabbed the cash while he was restrained before they both ran off across Main Street, past the Co-op and through an arched vennel.
The first man was white, 5ft 10ins tall and or stocky build. He was wearing a light blue hoodie with the hood up and a dark scarf covering the lower part of his face. He spoke with a local accent.
The other man was white, 5ft 5ins tall and of stocky build. He was wearing a light grey hoodie with the hood up, a dark scarf covering the lower part of his face and white trainers.
A police spokesman said: "The victim was completely uninjured during this robbery. However, he was left very distressed at the theft of his money and we are eager to trace those responsible.
"Anyone who was on Main Street on Friday morning and remembers seeing anything suspicious is asked to contact police immediately.
"Similarly, if anyone can help identify the suspects, they are also asked to get in touch."
Anyone with any information can contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A vennel is a passageway between the gables of two buildings which could in effect be a minor street in Scotland and the North east of England, particularly Durham City, particularly in Royal Burghs created in the twelfth century, . The word "vennel" probably comes from Norman French - the French word "venelle" means "alley" or "lane" and "venella" is the Latin form.RedBagMan wrote:What's an "arched vennel" ?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

To save any confusion...the Co-op and the offending vennel although it's not arched.
