A MANAGER of a Royal Mail crime investigation team has appeared at a Birmingham magistrates court accused of stealing over £6,000 from the company.

Ian Johnson, 42, of Foxcote Close, Redditch, pleaded not guilty to the theft of £6,025 belonging to Royal Mail Group Limited between September 7 and December 1 last year.

He has also denied a fraud allegation in relation to a Next gift card worth £48.99.

The magistrates ruled that the case should be sent to the city’s Crown Court.

Johnson was allowed bail.

The case was adjourned until April 30 for committal proceedings to take place.

It's not that unbelievable.
Some cops are bent...stands to reason some IB are too...positions of power can attract the lowest form of life.
What's unbelievable is just how easy the entrance exam must be because this guy,if guilty* is obviously not the sharpest tool in the box and the magistrate hasn't sent it to the Crown Court for a laugh.
If i were him i'd be practising the showering with your back against the wall technique.

Ian Johnson, 42, from Redditch, who was employed to police thefts within Royal Mail pleaded guilty to the theft of £6,025 that belonged to Royal Mail Group Limited between September 7 and December 1 last year.

He pleads not guilty at a magistrates court,it gets sent to the crown court and he pleads guilty.
They should double his sentence for f***ing about.
