Re: Anothe Repick Question !
Another random thought on this that relates to my own situation, will the point at which the PT start choosing duties mean that they should end up covering the worst unachievable duties in the office? So management are relying on the cash-strapped PT to rarely if ever cut-off, whereas a FT will understandibly want to finish at their contract finish time most days. The PT are then intimidated or simply not given training on how to use the equipment and deliver according to security and/or health&safety protocol, so they cut every corner in the book to finish quicker, saving the office a stack of money everyday and if IB ever shows up the PT are the scapegoat victims...

Re: Anothe Repick Question !
Look into the way forward aggreement (2000). Our ofice is currently going through all the same nonsense. SENIORITY counts, its stated in the way forward aggreement though the main dispute we're having in our office is 'reserved rights' for drivers, which apparently protects all those 'GRAFTERS'
go into the cwu website, click on postals and then agrrements and it spells it out very clearly...print it off and take it to your union as someone with lesser years should not be jumping ahead of you.
incidently, can anyone give absolute clarity on reserved rights? my understading is that it protects a drivers allowances but our union rep, who is a driver, is insisting it ringfences drivers shifts for life, even though someone with, for example, has 10 years less experience than another, can have his driving shift protected over walking postmen...it all sounds suspect to me......any info would be appreciated

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
