So your call rate and letter count was like a bad Friday, everyday? Which meant indoor prep time and deliver span were longer than normal? Last Monday was like that and to compound matters, I got out shortly before 1100 because I had to finish prepping my walk when I got in, when a call rate like that would require a delivery span in the four hour ballpark despite the normally low packet/signature count.

Don't forget that the outdoor performance tool is usually based on a ~80% call rate with a 3% attendence rate in the quiet summer "model week", they should have another figure based on recent monitoring weeks where you counted attendance calls and skipped delivery points daily for a week, often a higher delivery span figure.

Thats the best way to approach the next few weeks - between now and the change of the tax year it gets very busy for us - I think busier than Christmas as there is no extra support or leave block.

Do you get a certain amount of days to get the council tax letters done by? We had NHS ones this week and were given 5 days to clear them all - is it similar with council tax?

There is no national agreement.
It will be down to local resourcing.
To be honest what comes in....should go out. :whistle

A guy who did my p+l partners walk today reported him for not taking any or so he thought even though i told him he did because i had quite a few in my loops yesterday.

We were told by management to be sensible with them.

He wasn't having any of it though showing me the ones in the frame which did look a lot but he defo took where he was going with 'live' mail yesterday, had a bit of a row with him he's a bit of a prick which doesn't help :whistle

Think I've covered most if not all residential addresses CT this last week on my duty, can't say I experienced "extra pain" with increased call rates just to deliver the CT bill with nothing else, they arrived on days when there was multiple mail items per address with a high call rate anyway. Plus I only worked my hours.

Ours all came in today. The round I was on had post for every house except about 12 out of about 500 points. Glad there was very few packets.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
