Noise from Chester delivery depot

Hi,

I live in Chester near the Chester delivery depot. This plant is silent except that every 30-60mins hr a high pressure steam like noise is heard for around 5 seconds.

This even happens over the weekend and throughout the night. This is particularly problematic as it the noise prevents anyone sleeping in the back bedroom.

Does anyone know what this noise is and if there is any action I can take to try and get the noise suppressed.

Possibly an air compressor used to inflate vehicle tyres? We have one in our yard which is left switched on permanently so the pump comes on for a few seconds every now and then to maintain pressure in the tank.

Thanks Phil. You're probably right. Does it need to be left switched on constantly?

You can always complain to your local council environmental health department, if they find that there is a noise issue they will make RM stop it.

Why not contact Royal Mail locally first ?
A manager at the depot might be pleased to be informed that an employee has overlooked turning it on and off at the start and finish of each working day.

Might be the Linos doing their resourcing meetings and steaming up when they are trying to arrange cover for cut offs.

Most people can't contact RM to get a packet let alone complain about noise.
