In the letters section there was a bit about footwear and someone mentioned why don't we get karrimor boots. I have to agree on this as I have a pair They're the most comfortable boots I've ever worn, they're breathable, are fairly cheap and are actually waterproof. In fact as far as being waterproof goes they are must better than a lot of so called gortex boots I've owned and that includes brasher and berghaus which were more than twice the price.
If/when then choose to trial new footwear I'm sure you won't be included in the trial :Boo hoo! The replies to the letters are come across as dismissive in tone. The shoes being a particularly fine example. Posties - we need tools to do our jobs. RM - you can have inadequate tools and get on with it. What should be addressed in that letters section is where the difference between what the posties believe and what the management believe comes from. Why does the rm have such a rift between the uniformed street and the smart casual office.

DIdn't bother with the rest, just the back page. Not in the mood for smiley shite after a piss take of a fortnight, no make that a month.

I would like to know how much it costs to produce this load of bulls..t every month it must run into thousands.I thought after they had spent millions of pounds fitting electronic screens in every office they would not need to produce Courier anymore. What a waste of money :arrrghhh

it's that age old thing isn't it? ask a mathematician what 10 x 20 is and he'll say "200", ask an accountant what 10 x 20 is and he'll say "what kind of figure did you have in mind?"
"Just take it out and see how you go......."

Proper Magnum boots are pretty good, the shite they sell RM aren't,Karrimor would be the same once the relevant RM buying agent has had his backhander and the orders placed the quality would tumble.

Yes mail is down but what they dont tell you is that the people who are delivering the mail is down percentagewise even more.
My office for example has had delivery staffing levels down from 42 to 32 and delivery points have gone up due to a harbour development and new housing . Our rounds have increased in size and mine personally from 650 to 800 since revision plus we now do packets as well.
Even though 'mail is down' each postman is still delivering more mail per individual postman.
Is there any anorack out there that could tell me how many delivering postmen percentagewise we have lost these last 20 years?
The courier is like a propaganda leaflet, I wonder how many 100's if not 1000's of letters are sent in and not published!

high tens of thousands each issue, though they know some people who deliver it for free.
