THE landscape in which Royal Mail operates has transformed in recent years.
Email is much quicker for most business needs. Why send a postcard when you can share your holiday snaps online? Even posting Christmas cards has lost favour with the public.
It is still an everyday miracle to be able to send a letter across the country for under a pound.
But the most important service the Royal Mail still offers has to be guaranteed safe next-day delivery of important documents.
If it cannot improve its performance in this area other service providers will step forward to fill the gap.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
