You don't have to start later if you don't want to,your place is being had over with regards to flexing.jimbob69 wrote:re 39 hr week.
in our office all they have done is made the quieter days Mon/tuesday shorter by half an hr each day.
but if you go over your time say on monday the DOM wants you start later the next few mornings to save paying you the overtime.
If you all refuse,it will stop.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: 39 hour week
If only offices that have had the revision are getting the 39 hour week will they compensate all the offices still on 40 hours? As over the increasing number of years since this agreement came in, it adds up quite a bit! And we are not down for P&L till at least December- though were originally going into it in early 2011!
Or is that just wishful thinking!!

Re: 39 hour week
It's going to be more evident of course when we get the pay rises, because, I think, the hourly rate will be increased for 39 hour bodies and overtime will be paid for hours worked over 39 and not 40 sooooooooooooo someone on a 39 hour week but working 40 hours will get an extra hours pay for the same working week. BT 2010..........what an agreement that is.fly-catchers wrote:If only offices that have had the revision are getting the 39 hour week will they compensate all the offices still on 40 hours? With the speed of revisions it could be another year and maybe more before they are truly completed - so the value of the £800 will have been greater in 2010 than 2013 or 14.........yo.......winners and losers...............the new union slogan.

Re: 39 hour week
Well we've been P&L for 16 months and still on 40 hrs................the 39 hours is only enacted on the indoor revision which is seperate to the delivery methods revision which incorporates the P&L. We're going live with the 39 hour week next month..........just in time for the pay risecustard wrote:fly-catchers wrote:If only offices that have had the revision are getting the 39 hour week will they compensate all the offices still on 40 hours? Not in the BT 2010 Scotland (amended version) it isn't.dvbuk55 wrote:................the 39 hours is only enacted on the indoor revision which is seperate to the delivery methods revision which incorporates the P&L.
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Re: 39 hour week
We're not having a revision or walk sequenced mail so no savings to be made there, gaffer said easiest way will be to ABSORB the hour over the week.
The few full timers left have said that they expect to lose a little work each day.
Gaffer says that the drop in mail volume cancels out the hour, so it's all ok according to him,
us? 40 hour week to be done in 39!
Asked the rep what he thought? ABSORB it, just a few minutes a day he says!
As John Lydon said "ever feel like you've been cheated"
Sorry, had a bad day and sick to the back teeth of being made a mug of!

I would take that over a revision any day of the week!
Union what Union? Do we have a union?

Certainly does. I'm looking to get as many viable options as possible.k979aaa wrote:Our time's are 0730-1448 mon-tues 0640-1448 wens-fri 0630-1418 sat if that helps.dvbuk55 wrote:Yes that would be ideal but I'm told that is a non-starter.k979aaa wrote:Well David Beckham has to be right "At the end of the day".dvbuk55 wrote:I like to think of as much time as possible at one time, probably 20 minutes over 3 days.
