pension early on compassionate grounds

hi, was wondering if someone could give me an idea if i could get my pension early (before 55) on compassionate grounds, my partner is on the high rate of DLA , with the middle rate of mobility, i am his full time carer and the prospect of being able to work again is slim , am i able to apply to the trustees and do i need any special forms or do i write a letter to start with. thank you

As far as I know you can only take your pension early if it's you that's suffering from ill health, but I don't see the harm in writing to the trustee and asking where you stand.
