Hi guys and girls
I was made redundant almost 4 years ago due to closure of the sorting office and I was told by my line manager that I could re-apply for royal mail jobs if I wanted to with in a two year period.
The other day I found a part time job with royal mail that I wanted to apply for as I was in the process of filling the application I was asked to input my insurance number once I did and pressed submit I received this message, (Sorry - Our records are showing that we are unable to continue with your application.
If you are a former employee of Royalmail/Parcelforce Worldwide or Post Office Limited and would like us to investigate this further please contact us by email including your name, date of birth and national insurance number to hrsc.security.vetting@royalmail.com)
Why would I receive a message like that, Any ideas guys?
Cheers

"investigate this further" might be that you will be considered for the job if you hand back some of the money given to you at the time of your voluntary redundancy.

Re: Can I apply for jobs with royal mail again?
Thank you for the fast response, I have emailed them the other day about it just got response this afternoon right after I have posted the query on this forum!!!
This is what they had to say;
Thank you for your email dated 21st February 2012, noting the difficulties
encountered when you attempt to apply to Royal Mail Group.
The investigation into the points raised in your email has shown that your
status on the HR system was blocking your application. Your status has been
amended and you are now eligible to reapply online
However, if you still continue to experience problems, we have also
arranged for you to access our applications system without the need to
enter your National Insurance Number. When you make your next application,
you can leave the field requesting your National Insurance Number blank.
Press ‘SUBMIT’ followed by ‘CONTINUE’, then answer the questions which
follow. The system will allow your application to proceed. Checks which
the National Insurance Number information would allow us to conduct
automatically will then be done manually.
If the job vacancy you were applying for is now closed, please set up an
email alert for future vacancies. You can do this by logging on to the
Royal Mail website http://www.royalmail.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;\jobs and selecting "email me jobs" and
adding your preferred selection criteria.
I trust this reply answers the points raised in your email to your
satisfaction. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused.

It seems that my NI Number blockage has been removed and I’m free to apply for royal mail jobs again.
But why was it blocked in the first place??? That will be my next question to them.
Cheers
