So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Impossible to say, changes from office to office and even walk to walk and line manager to line manager.

You spend all your time trying to get employed by RM. Then when you are they try everything to get rid of you.

It would be easier in smaller office compared to larger office.

Re: what is it like to work for royal mail?
Not my experience to be honest, I find working in a large office better because the Union is a bit stronger - but then even that does not apply across the board. I suppose in the end it comes down to how people interact with each other, if everyone involved has respect for each other then its a lot easier to get the job done. But if, as seems prevalent throughout Royal Mail, Managers don't respect workers and workers don't respect managers the job becomes harder and more stressful. Add into that mix poor Union representation, or Managers ignoring the Union and agreements and its a recipe for disaster.Darren Bent wrote:It would be easier in smaller office compared to larger office.
