WHAT genius in Royal Mail suddenly decided after all these years that the post box outside the gates of their depot at Merlins Bridge was an accident hazard and removed it?
How many accidents has it caused? In mitigation, the notice on the fence states that a new posting box will be provided inside. What use is that when the depot is closed and the gates locked? Surely the point of the box being outside was that anyone could post mail ready for collection at any time of the day or night?
What is so difficult about placing a collection box inside the perimeter fence with a posting slot accessible from the outside?
No wonder Royal Mail and similar bodies are in difficulty when they have management thinking of this calibre.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Something we've been saying for yearsNo wonder Royal Mail and similar bodies are in difficulty when they have management thinking of this calibre.
