A POSTBAG full of people’s personal details was left dumped in Westcliff.

The unopened post contained bank statements, payslips and other official-looking mail.

It was found by a man near the cenotaph.

Simon Wilson was walking his dog when he was stopped by the man who said the letters were all addressed to people living in Clifftown Parade, Westcliff.

Mr Wilson said the bag contained about 50 letters addressed to flats at 33 Clifftown Parade.

The property has been split into about eight or ten flats.

He said: “It was really weird and concerning.

“A man stopped me and said ‘look what I found dumped near the benches’. It was a big bag, full of mail – some as recent as January 20. The guy said he had called Royal Mail to report it and they told him to post it back into the nearest post box.

“I did not catch the guy’s name, but went with him to the nearest post box to help.”

The brown paper bag was stuffed full of bills, letters and flyers.

Royal Mail said it had delivered the post correctly and feared it had either been thrown out by other residents or stolen.

Spokeswoman Sally Hopkins said: “If the addressee has gone away, mail should be marked accordingly and returned to us. The local manager will be speaking to residents in 33 Clifftown Parade to ensure any correctly delivered but unwanted mail is suitably marked and returned to us.

“We would always advise homemovers to notify all their friends, family and business contacts to let them know their new address, and set up a Royal Mail redirection service so they can continue to receive their mail.”

The local manager will be speaking to residents in 33 Clifftown Parade.....

Should the rep be present?
Is he going to take one of them down the conduct code?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Do you think this is a multiple occupancy issue?
Perhaps there is only one official delivery point.
Perhaps there is a letter box on the outside door of 33 Clifftown Parade. :whistle
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
