managers decided to keep sorting way past the normal cut of time ,still sorting way pass the time we had all bagged up and ready to go , and making us take it all , result loads of cut offs ,
i wonder how much they get paid to make these brilliant decisions,there is no way they will be able to cover them today as every one is so pissed off ,so the benches will be full tomorrow

Got a feeling its going to be really heavy tomorrow, loads of DSA trucks in the MC and lorry load of Matalan Catalogues. Nearly 1/10th of the office off sick. Stress seems to be a big problem. Its only going to get worse!

Average day Monday. Got about an hour of drizzle late morning. Tuesday, very quiet and mild weather. Today was totally different. Heavy mail, got 2 and a half boxes at 08.45. Out just after 11am and didn't get back until after 4pm. Cannot understand how the days can be so different.

Arrived 10 mins early, neary flattened by the stampede of flyers. Bowled up to the frame, bench was buried in packets so started prepping them only to find whoever had been prepping had hidden a load of mail under the packets and f*cked off out. Usual fun and games trying to find a full set of keys for the boxes which ends up with me pouching off in a box 10 minutes away by bus.

Strangely not as busy as yesterday. Usual shortage of staff but at least we got the walk sequence earlier.

Yesterday. next weeks time sheet has me doing floating cover and day off saturday. SATURDAY OFF!!!! GERRIN!!!
Today: next weeks time sheet has me doing the same walk all week and no saturday. Cue convoluted bullsh*t explanation as to why i'd been swapped but no explanation as to why someone else is on the walk i was 1st rostered for.

Smacks of sour grapes on mngmt's part, possibly cos i refused to do unpaid o/t (their inability to resource correctly isnt my emergency) and suddenly all my overtime has dried up too. We shall see who blinks 1st.

Haha sounds just like what happens in our office Postman Plodd: start to think for yourself = silent treatment / no overtime offers for a couple of weeks.

Light today, 2 boxes of mech and not too many parcells, drizzled a bit at times but I think tomorrow is going to be wetter.

Arrived to find I had been given a headstart on the prepping and still left the office the latest all week, Christ knows what time I might have been ready to go if I had arrived to a blank canvas, frame was bulging like is was Xmas card week all over again. Somehow finished pretty much on time, but then again I left a quarter for the cut-off bandits.

Got half way around my walk, went to the box to pick up my next bag and there was one of our lot pouching off, finishing over 2 hours early. Sickener.

I had a real cracker today, mail wise it was quite easy (very few packets which really helps) but I had one Tracked item (M&S), ok, it said clearly on the label 'no signature requires - safeplace' so I knock the door, waking the woman up and hand her the packet after scanning it..............all done, everyone happy until I reach the next address to deliver a tracked (2 hours later) when I type my pin in only to be met with 'name'...........well, my heart sank and by this stage I couldn't remember where I had delivered the first packet too so I'm standing in front of this man with his packet in my hand (no dirty comments ) trying to think of what to do....................so all I could think was to put my name in and sign it myself and then scan his in and carry on, wrecking my brain to try to remember the original address. About a hour later I'd remembered so I went back to her house to ask her to sign for it (hoping she still had the box to scan in the code again) so, I woke her up (again) and explained rather sheepishly what had happened and did she still have the box so that she could sign for it (I think I may have have some sort of record for saying the word 'sorry') but she was fine and got the box, so I scanned it in, she signed it and I completed the task......................and it did say 'no signature required' both of us agreed on that

Rubbish! FT'er on an easy duty worked his day off, so my usual float was scuppered. Was covering a walk i've never done in an area i barely know....'There's a map, son. Will you go over today' said the guvnor. Me 'no, can only work my hours today, see you at 2;40' So, im on a huge housing (posh)estate, a huge maze it is too and I was hammered with brown council letters addressed 'the resident' Bought back four budles (made sure ALL 1at class was delivered in them) and the guvnor praises me, saying i'd 'done wll' Looks like I may be landed with that walk again

got rather wet (only second day in, so still in not-as-waterproof-as-they-were civvies with a rm tabard). upside was that three of us made light work of two walks p&l style…
