Yep it is. The office is full of reps from other sections but they don't seem to give a toss. Even being Sub I don't feel comfortable going in there. The Area H & S Rep just tells me, 'You're making yourself unemployable to RM', big f***ing help! I could do with some support especially now ATOSsers have mentioned IHR.POSTMAN wrote:Storm, you seriously get done over at your place, also isn't the ADR's office at your place as well?

Not correct, Stage 1 is the informal warning. Stage 2 is the formal warning and finally Stage 3 is the dismissalSexyLegs wrote:Shrug it off and don't worry, most people have had or are on a stage 1, it means absolutley nothing. Stay healthy for the next 12 months and you'll be removed from the procedure.

Tell the Rep to get onto Branch and sort it out. They tried all this crap in my area and the Branch put a stop to it.
You need to keep pushing and going higher and higher if need be because what RM are doing is just B&H.AOD are normally discounted for sick absence purposes likewise disability, if the manager issues a stage take out a grievanceGeezer wrote:StormStormproof HQ should be questioning the sickness procedure, its getting ridiculous. I'm back on a Stage 2.....got a Stage 1 for having an operation caused by an AOD then triggered the Stage 2 for incurring 2 absences in the 6 months, 1 of those was due to the ongoing problem with the injury. In 3 years I've had a total of 5 days including the Sundays off that was'nt due to my injury. Beginning to wonder if I'm better off out of this firm.
Why are you being issued a stage if it's due to an AOD. In the last 4 years i have had 167 days off due to op's and hospital appointments ( Just checked my absence report ) and have only just come back 2 weeks ago after after being off from the end of october for anther 64 Days on top of that.
How many stage warnings have i had, Not one as it's all been AOD related.
Get onto your Branch and see what they can do because somthings not right !Good Luck
When I had my AOD I brought this up with the union. I have no doubt I was going to get the warning, I was in the office to chat about it, and basically told them it was BS getting a warning for AOD. He didn't issue it in the end, but was told it's at manager's discretion after seeking union advice

Mazza thats not quite right, all stages are at the managers discretion but AOD should not be Issued ...........Storm talk to your Branch Sec and see what advice he/she can offer you. Failing that get onto HQ.mazza111 wrote:Red Robbo wrote:Normally...Geezer wrote:Storm

Re: 1st stage warning
Got a 1st stage warning, AOD, had to have surgery, have now injured myself in the ice, too scared to go off sick, in extreme pain, so I know that they can be issued, but refused to sign the warning out of principle. Cant go ill for a while otherwise will get another warning. Slippery slope

I mean there is no point worrying about it, if you go off for anything other than an AOD, and sometimes those as well, you'll get the Stage 1.Red Robbo wrote:Not correct, Stage 1 is the informal warning. It's a serious issue but not worth worrying about as you can do nothing about it!

As I said, I didn't get it cos I got into a rather heated debate with my manager. At the end of the day it was same accident that caused my IHR.
And it was our unit rep that called the area rep with regards to the advice on whether he could issue it, he got told at manager's discretion.
