FLEXIBLE RESOURCE QUESTION

hi all , wondered if any of you guys can answer a quick query,,,ive just signed a contract with angard for the position as a FLEXIBLE RESOURCING EMPLOYEE for 50weeks....would you think i would get a call to do some work over the xmas period or does the xmas caual workers get preference over me....i signed the contract on the 17th november and still have not recieved my ID BADGE what angard said i would recieve on completion and return of the contract.....rang angard and they said there running behind with all id badges,,,,,just wondered if any of u could shed some light on it or heard from any one else in the same situation,,, many thanks in any help.................

I had to send a second lot of photos in, by special delivery (which set me back a few quid) as apparently they couldn't find my photos!

On my application history on the Royal Mail site, it says hired and start date agreed but I've yet to start nor receive a start date at all.

[Plymouth] I too passed security checks recieved my id badge and sent off the contract signed by me [ not returned yet] with a start date in the contract for 07th nov 2011. I phoned the flexible telephone number to be told they will notify me when the need arises by phone text or email.At the same time as applying for the flexible i applied for xmas and am starting tomorrow the 1st dec only after phoning the xmas number four times. i have been doing the xmas casual for the last 5 years. i have found out that some people who's 1st time application have already been employed since the 23rd nov.As for the flexible resource job i think its dont hold your breath for a job till way after xmas.good luck

That was my concern, I've pretty much abandoned hope of starting there for this Xmas.

Perhaps it's my own fault for not applying specifically for the Xmas job.

But on my jobs page on the Royal Mail website, it says that my job offers are for both Xmas casual and flexible resource but my last application (since last Xmas) was for flexible resource.

Chances are if you are given work it will be in a delivery office and not a mail centre.

Christmas casuals were employed as Flexible Resources. The contract is active for 50 weeks, but that doesn't mean you are guaranteed work. You can be working in a mail centre or a delivery office.

It's flexible in both what you do, and how long you do it for.

It's also flexible in so far as they decide flexibly whether or not to pay you and they're flexible about how much if anything they pay you and they're pretty flexible about how much tax they take off you and everything is flexible so far as terms and conditions go and the truth about how they are going to treat you is totally flexible and whether or not you get a reply to anything other than an ET1 or whatever a summons to the County Court is called is flexible so don't expect anything to be pinned down, ever, 'cos you're a flexible resource which means they can bend you, the truth and reality to fit their flexibly-warped mindset.

Hi i applied for a casual mail sorter role, i passed the online tests, the telephone interview etc. and went for my document checking session which went well and angard said that i would be contacted within 2 weeks to see if i pass the security checks, however it has been almost 3 weeks now and i have still not heard from them but on my job application status it says "HIRED AND START DATE AGREED" helppp? has this happended to anyone else?
