Not been on here for ages dingo not looking for an argument. Your assertion that people are not up for balloting i agree 100% with, for me personally thats in large part because of what happened the last 2 times we were on strike but it also because of most of the members/staff who will vote for any s**t put in front of them localy or nationally.dingo wrote:For the record I have argued to national officers and senior managers that the Delivery Revision process which was delivery best praticise is a crock of s**t and needs to be changed. However Royal Mail for whatever reason do not seem to be up for that change. So what would you suggest we do , I dont sense that people are neccessary up for balloting or we would have had numerous requests by now.
It's also common for alot of them to work unpaid overtime everyday, as well as bail the managers out when they are in trouble includind coming in off A/L to to cover a duty at short notice.
as to what we could do.... I would dearly love to dispence with the palava with regards to cutting off and for the CWU to tell RM that there members can finish on their time without jumping through hoops. in short if RM managers would like staff to work extended then the onus is on them to check with staff if the duty they are on will be completed on time and if not then ask the staff member if they would like to work OT.
I'm sure it wont happen and we will continue with the intolerable situation were by it's a routine occurence to have managers accuse staff of criminality in order to coerce them into overtime.

I agree with your last statement Belle. It is amazing how the Rules for overrunning deliveries appear to merge into the flexibility agreement to suit management needs. If anything needs sorting out with urgency, then this must be one of the top priorities for the union. Dingo, you must be aware of this and I think we would all be thankful for you to use your voice with the PEC to stress the importance of getting this sorted.
