Ice seemed worse today as all the snow had compacted. Spikies still slipped and it was a really heavy visiting every house plus loads of packets. To top it off they made us lapse extra yesterday when we had a spare in the office!! We're already going over our time due to the weather without lapsing ontop, it's adding more and more pressure onto us - idiots. Managers should get out there and try delivering rather than walking ten paces outside the depot to "assess" the conditions. :thumbdown :so there :arrrghhh :speak to the hand :no no :d'oh!

Varied week for me this week, different indoor duties due to injury. Glad I was indoors as the weather is crap, laying snow all week and -7c driving in this morning. A couple of people had falls but no broken bones as far as I know.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets

The coldest start i can rem within my 24 years. It actually stung my face when i stepped out at 5.20am. I got in the car and started up and nearly died of shock when i saw the temp of -14c

I went back inside and put another T shirt on and my long johns.

Very icey all the way round. Anything wet was frozen instantly. Only slipped over once on a non cleared drive and thats with spikies on.

Booked 1hr 30 mins (well will on Mon)
Rows of houses all bearing down on me........I can feel their blue hands touching me.......All these things in all positions.........All these things will one day take control..........

Don't f*cking go to work if it's too dangerous. I'm not going tomorrow if it gets any worse. I'm not putting my body and bones on the line for this job. I was out in the snow last winter and it was a f*ckig joke. No concern for our safety whatsoever.
I was speaking to a new bloke, who started only a few months ago, about what it was like last year - not sure he believed me, not sure I would to be honest if I had not lived through it. :Very Happy

It should start warming up this week. :pray

Sat was a total joke as the pavements were deadly as the ice is about 3” thick on the shady sides of the roads. I understand that the mail must get through but what ever happened to “first and dated” going out and leaving all that DSA crap behind. They just load you up and send you out however bad it is :no no

I got out the office at 8.30am with the temp at -12 c and my first recorded was around 9 but by that time I had lost all feeling in my finger tips and was having trouble peeling off the stickers.

Don't you hate it when you leave mail with the consent of your lino, only to still go past your contract finish time, when you had no intention of doing so?

Not really - what I hate is speeding up to make sure you'll make it, or slowing down if you have been able to get rid of attendances quicker than usual, just in case you are being watched.
