Reading between the lines the document is just intended as a way of saying you're not getting a pay rise this year guys.

I can picture :lfo and :cfo sitting in an office thinking up all these fantasy changes and laughing at our reaction reading them,when in reality they know we would never accept them.

However if we do not play our cards right in this dispute those are the conditions we are likely to end up getting.

we never get anything like that in our branch, but people read the stuff yesterday about flexibility and are definitely getting riled up, we are going to have a meeting to get our sh*t together for the next round, BRING IT ON. The rolling strikes mean crossing picketlines or handling strike mail though, maybe we should go out for 3 days, 4 days and then all out if they haven't backed down by Oct. 8. We should not rule out an all out strike though, if nothing else works we have to be ready to go for it.

Just been to my area union meeting today, with my copy of the RM agreement which I had printed off here this morning. Our Secretary had copies also to hand out to other reps.
We totally agree that this document was done long before the 5 week period of calm. It was given to Dave & Bill on sunday night !!
Strikes and more strikes are inevitable it will be more supported now after this document on modernisation + reduction of pay.

I Think its about time the National Press were informed about all of this and try and get FULL PUBLIC SUPPORT because at the moment all they think is that we are after a pay rise.This way of working sounds ideal for many other companies such as manufacturing and it won't be long until they follow suit too if RM enforce it.

The reason i do this job is because it fits in with family life.At the moment you finish in plenty of time to fetch the kids from school as the wife works as well.With these so called changes +2 hrs over your time i won't make the school in time. School holidays and those inset days are going to be a real problem too,the wife starts work early aftertoon at the moment i finish in time so i can take over from her but now what am i suppose to do.The wife can't just go into work and tell her employer she has got to change her hours because mine are changing.
They say they will make provisions for people with young families but what?It states in this so called AGREEMENT that everyone will be treated the same and there will be no favourites.
I thought there was a new law that came in recently telling employers they had to be family freindly?

I'm not sure if my grandparents would of had to work such draconian hours and conditions. I go to work to live, I don't go around drawing breath so I can be at the beck and call of RM.

I've called the pension people today and found out you can transfer your pension when ever you want, they also said they hadn't heard of us having to work till 65, as I told the girl, I don't intend working till I'm 65, I'll transfer it out, even if I have to lose some money, doing it.

A DOM told us that is boss told him, the gloves are off, it will be dirty fighting all the way, we've got a few here in the same boat and they aren't getting anywhere or getting any help either.
