Dear Colleague
Move from Retail Price Index (RPI) to Consumer Price Index (CPI): High Court Appeal - Monday/Tuesday February 20th & 21st 2012
Further to LTB 1029/11, at a meeting of the TUC Executive Committee held on Tuesday 7 February 2012, under a document entitled "The Public Services Update Report" - a number of unions have lodged an appeal against the High Court's Ruling in favour of the government's change in the up-rating of public sector pensions. The appeal hearing is due to take place on Monday/Tuesday 20/21 February 2012 (GMB, UNITE, FDA, Prospect et al).
The General Secretary indicated that the CWU would like to join the appeal. As a result, following the TUC Executive, arrangements were put in place by the General Secretary of the CWU to co-join the appeal.
Further details about the appeal will be issued in the next week or so. In the meantime, Branches are asked to make a note of the date.
Any enquiries on this LTB should be sent to the General Secretary's Office quoting the reference GS 11.0.
Yours sincerely
W HAYES
General Secretary
